Sadly from what I've heard, the stand-alone version of Goldeneye 007 isn't coming out on the 3rd along with the Golden Controller edition, instead it's being pushed to the 17th.
Screw you Activision!

Is Bloodstone any good?
Had no idea it was out this early. (Probably not a good sign) _________________ My YouTube game videos!

Hrmm.. doesn't seem to be getting a lot of hype. PALGN have been running features on it for a long time now and I find it interesting that some people haven't even heard of it.
I have this baby pre-ordered from OzGameShop for $62.99AUD delivered.. so probably won't get it on release day due to the longer shipping time from the UK.. but it's certainly a game I am eager to get my hands on. _________________

IGN have churned out quite a few interesting articles on Bloodstone.
I'm personally looking forward to Goldeneye, 007: Bloodstone, Ghost of Sparta and Black Ops. A great month to be on holidays!
A shame that the standalone Goldeneye is pushed back till the 17th of November. Anything to do with the parent company's interests in making sure Black Ops sells through the roof?

Maybe it's more to guarantee that they actually sell enough of the gold controller bundles _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

I always consider myself as being pretty aware of upcoming games, but last week in the 'Weekly Releases' thread was literally the first time I've seen a mention of Blood Stone.
I expect low sales. _________________

I get the feeling Activision are ignoring Blood Stone in favour of pushing GoldenEye. Except for here, where neither seems to be getting pushed.
Should be disposable. Opening clip is crap, but the song is pretty good.

^^ That's just the opening title credits as per any James Bond movie. No gameplay footage there.. I know you probably knew that already but it's a bit odd to call the opening credits of any game "crap".. it's just the opening credits.. hehe _________________

But...that's what I was talking about. The opening credits, something iconic to Bond, are crap. I wasn't talking about the game. _________________

Ive done some digging around and it turns out that Activision were originally going to delay all versions of the game until the 17th but then something interesting happened..
Nintendo announced that the Classic Controller Pro (standalone) is going to be released on the 17th.
Hence it looks like they are releasing the Golden Controller bundles early to try and clear their stock... "lol"

Well, some early verdicts are in.
Bloodstone is reportedly painfully average, having received a 5 at IGN.
Goldeneye however... is exactly what everyone was hoping for as it received a 9 at IGN!
It'll be in my sweet hands in just under half an hour

There's a guy on Youtube who has been doing a walkthrough of Blood Stone if anyone's interested.

ign is often unreliable with reviews. metacritic currently has about 7 for bloodstone (only got 3 reviews so far though so that'll probably change soon enough), goldeneye is on 79. _________________

GameInformer seem to have given it an objective review. Certainly not a shining review (7.5/10) and they highlight some negatives but the review is a lot more objective and not comparing to other games like the IGN staff like to (constantly) do:

Well from someone who has been playing GoldenEye for most of the day, my consensus is that it's a worthy buy. For anyone that remembers the original, I am up to the tank level chasing Ourumov and Natalia through St Petersburg. As the plot has been reworked, it is interesting to see how old characters made the transition in addition to who hasnt made the cut / new characters introduced.
I have been using the Classic Controller Pro that came bundled with the game and it works like a charm. It also supports the Gamecube controller for anyone that's wondering. Why Nintendo didnt release it in this iterition in the first place amazes me. The original Classic Controller is a clunky POS compared to this ergonomic masterpiece.
I've not tried the Wii & Nunchuck combo but I hear it's very good.
Had a quick bout of local multiplayer with a friend and it's very enjoyable. Havent gotten online, so I can't comment on that.
All in all, a solid effort. Thumbs up to Eurocom who I wasnt awfully fond with all those years ago after I bought The World Is Not Enough on N64 (cartridge game with freakin load times!).
I won't bother with Bloodstone personally..
EDIT: Just jumped online for a few games and even playing outside of my 'region', the game is very playable. The framerate isnt 100% ofcourse but there arent any lag shots which means you can actually snipe.
A local Aussie game should be silky smooth.
