In regards to MitchBRAH maybe you should put up a pole if he should be banned.

I know i'd happily agree as it seemed obvious he is a scammer and obviously deserves a ban (plus what is not to stop him scamming someone else on the forums)

Anyhow good luck bro

MitchBRAH isn't getting banned.

Overheating is a cause of the flashing lights, Mitch said the fan had issues. If the fan isn't functioning correctly you could logically assume overheating would occur (I personally would never buy a computer/console if I was told a fan was iffy, but that's me). The risk was there, you took it.

Fair enough, but Mitch said the console was WORKING. Overheating and YLOD doesn't occur via postage.

Well, YLoD might occur if something got shook loose during transit (possibly due to or in spite of the reflow MitchBRAH did). Sony's pretty damn quiet about what actually causes it. I know when mine happened it wasn't due to overheating as after it had started occurring it would always happen on boot, nevermind hot or cold.

True, but something can work and then stop working, transit or not you bought it knowing there was a chance this would happen, it was just incredibly unlucky it happened straight away.

Or maybe, just maybe, it was busted already when it was sent. Either way, not much can be done if the seller is being stubborn about it and sticking to his story. Some people are just like that.

That said, I'd never buy a second hand fatty PS3. Too many horror stories.

^I really can't see how he was stubborn when his first post read...

The affected PS3 MitchBRAH sales thread, first post wrote:
*snip*
So now I am not going to lie to you the PS3 has a fan issue. If you run a disk doesn't matter if it is DVD, Blu Ray or CD after a while the console tricks itself into thinking it is hotter than it actually is and speeds the fan up. Now I have completely reflowed the motherboard correctly and tested everything as of last week (01/09/10) but the console itself has not been turned on said date which i will turn of if a sale gets established.
*snip*
He had stated that he reflowed. Crappy job or not, past experience with the boys I tutored, reflows don't last very long. For them, 3 reflows each only lasted 2 days before they gave up and got a brand new PS3 Slim, hence I believe once dead, always dead based on their experience.

But the point was he had stated it in the Sales thread so he didn't hide the fact he did reflow.

I fully understand Zero is upset but I also feel sorry for Mitch. Things doesn't happen the way we want sometimes but there is no need to focus on the negatives all the time.

Stubborn in regards to how he was not helping in any way possible and attempting to pin the blame on me. Seeing as he says he reflowed the motherboard, I gotta say, kid, next time, don't bother.

Excellent work. It's highly unfortunate that you had to go through such an inconvenience to get what you thought you were buying. Good to see that karma worked your way in the end, though. Would be very interesting to see it hit MitchBRAH back in the face. =P

It's past the point of 'sorry' and 'being a jerk'.
