This game looks amazing and i believe will be the sleeper hit of the year. Its already getting lots of great review scores (90+) and is said to be an action game that is over 20 hours long, which is unheard of. Anyone else excited about this one? _________________

From the trailer it seems to have more cool looking bosses than we have seen this entire generation, that alone makes this game awesome.

Definitely got my eyes set on this one. When's the release date again? Hopefully coming out before end of the year, for some summer holidays bashing!

kojima is only over seeing the game and the longest cut scene which is the end of the game is 15 minutes, so don't worry it is a long game.
Demo will be out for everyone on the 29th, so check it out than if you are on the fence _________________

Are we getting the limited edition in Aus, or will I have to order it from a US site? _________________

I'd sold on this reading the reviews. I'm going to get me a copy on launch day. _________________ Shin J Leon.

'Get too greedy with your button mashing and say night-night'
Awesome, that is what I wanted to hear. Sounds like the combat will be one of those easy to get into tough to master ones which is exactly whay I wanted.

review has me intrigued but the end it says the reviewer hated Bayonetta which is one of my faviourte games, and loved God of War wich I've found consistently underwhelming.
So now I'm a little worried that the reviewers taste in games sucks. _________________

Yeah, I had that thought too. My jaw dropped a little when he said the game was better than Bayonetta but worse than God of War 3. It will be interesting to see what Bayonetta fans say about the game.
Sounds like it will be the longest game of it's type though. That is a definite plus in my book.

Oh sir, if I could plus you more I would. YES GoW is consistently underwhelming, 3 good but unforgetable games. Bayonetta was brillant.
The main attraction for this game is it's style. It looks very refined and moody. I also love the soundtrack (in the trailers). _________________ Shin J Leon.

Was going to read that linked review, until the above comments - GoW3 didn't grab me at all, and Bayonetta, surprisingly, did.
Stumbled across one at Eurogamer, though - rather good review. 8/10. Check it.
Now, anyone know about the limited edition... ? _________________

I don't think you should judge the review by that one comment. God of war and bayonetta are still very different games. He does mention a lot of things he likes more about Castlevania than he does in god of war.
You also have to realise some people just can't get pass certain aspects of bayonetta to enjoy the game. _________________

^ This.
The sillyness of Bayonetta didn't gel with me at all, which is why it has sat on my shelf collecting dust all this time. _________________

The other Castlevania games have been nearly as silly, in a darker way but still.
I guess I can understand though, GoW (both God and Gears... killzone 2 as well now that I think of it) always feel like a bit of an overdose of testosterone and that is a bit of a turn off.

Oh I can't stand how these games need a huge muscle bound character like marcus fenix in order to get the kiddies in America to buy the game.
Gabriel belmont was meant to be a generic barbarian type character apparently. If Hideo only did one thing in this game I'm glad it was change that aspect cause it would have been awful.
I personally like the silliness of bayonetta but each to their own _________________

Cause a genetically engineered soldier that has spent his entire life in combat fighting against massive aliens wouldn't be buff?
Sorry but having a non buff dude in the lead for gears would be stupid. Not every game needs a buff manly man, Gears did though. _________________

IGN and Gamespot both have reviews up and both give it an 7.5
There biggest complaint was that it doesn't feel like a Castlevania game.

http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1124296p1.html
http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/castlevania-lords-of-shadow/critic-reviews
Here is the overall scoring from IGN.
7.5 Presentation
A reboot for the franchise that throws away everything you expect in a Castlevania game and cherry picks features from other popular titles.
8.5 Graphics
A beautiful, richly detailed world that suffers just a bit from drops in framerate.
7.5 Sound
The orchestral soundtrack is exciting and reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings. Great voice actors are here, but their dialogue is melodramatic.
7.5 Gameplay
Combat becomes repetitive, but the quiet moments of puzzling and platforming in between are a lot of fun.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
This is a giantic game with lots of replay value.
7.5

Good post Andy. I was going to pick this up on release, but after seeing Gamespot's review, I may wait a while.

They should have called in Housevania and it would have got 9s across the board.
"We can't wait to see what the next installment of Housevania will bring" - IGN
Got to love these magic numbers ->
8.0 Lasting Appeal
This is a giantic game with lots of replay value.
That suggets 10 to me? _________________ Shin J Leon.
