Just finished the game on heroic. Sooo damn good. Probably my fave of the year as a single player campaign. Thanks for the memories bungie!

Has anyone played offline after connecting and playing on Xbox Live, and then had their credits capped to a certain amount?
It's probably the one criticism I have on the game (which is more to do with Bungie, I guess). I checked online and I'm not the only person with this problem and it seems everyone's a litttttttle bit ticked off but there's no solution, other than going online to earn your credits.
It just sucks because I don't have a Gold account due to lack of funds, so I was using the free live weekend and the free 48 hour code to be playing, and it was so awesome...but it sucked so much that I finished the campaign on Legendary and all I got for it was 50 credits

Yeah, that does kinda suck. It's made sure I only play it online, which sucks cause the only way I can is by moving our modem into the lounge room, so I only can when no one is using the internet. I really need a long ethernet cable or something.

Finally plugged my network cable in last night, log on to Halo and tells me that I need to forfeit 5000 credits. Quite upset, think about throwing things around, so I say no spend 5000 credits, then keep playing.
I realise I'm the defeat Six, so I restart my xbox, and it tells me I need to forfeit 7000 credits. I reluctantly said yes.
The way it was worded says that I won't lose any more points from now on. Still, I was pretty annoyed with it.

Yeah I was reading the Bungie forums to get an explanation, and when you connect online for the first time, you need to have 26,000 credits and nothing more. I think it's pretty silly because the credits and ranking system is purely for bragging rights but doesn't actually make you better. I got most of my credits because I finished the campaign again and again. Others get them from Forge, while others do match making. But it's not cool for offline players. There's one internet connection in this house which needs to be shared with five people so my time online is limited. I can only do the commendations for Campaign and nothing else...until I invest in a Live subscription.
Oh and about that invisible Elite at the beginning of the first mission. He carries a Data Pad (they're about the equivalent of those Terminals in Halo 3). There's two in each level, with the 2nd Data Pad only accessible if you do it on Legendary.

Just finished Solo Legendary Campaign. All in all, it wasn't that bad. Having played through Heroic and knowing where to go and what enemies were where was a big help.

gl to anyone but a handful of super nerds getting top rank legit with no hacking, it would take 334 days getting the 60k credit cap to get there, and thats like impossible to do 60k every day for 334, so will take a good 2 years easily i would think. there pics for all of em in the link but i just put in the highest one

I really don't think speed effects ping speed, as I get lower pings on my 1.5 mb/s connection than my friend on 20 mb/s.

Long awaited? Doesn't it take like almost a year of 60k credits a day to hit the cap? So why would anyone be waiting for a level cap raise?

At the moment no one can advance past Lt. Colonel Grade 3 because of a level cap Bungie put on the community so that no one can advance too far ahead of the others. Once the cap is lifted, then people can go for that Inheritor rank!

Having not played a Halo game since finished 1 and 2, I've got Reach on it's way from Play-Asia.
Is it worthwhile me playing 3 and/or ODST or is Reach quite an improvement over those 2 to make me not want to go back? (Keeping in mind, I never rarely cared much for the actual story of Halo)...
