I like finding art that I enjoy, and one of the easiest ways is to have people show you what they like. So please show me art that you enjoy.
I dig Laurie Lipton's work. She works with charcoal on paper, and draws some beautiful (and twisted) images.
Martin Mazorra works in wood block printing. He doesn't seem to have a website, but his work can be viewed (and purchased) at Cannonball Press. He also does collaborative wood block work with Mike Huston (also on Cannonball Press), which is equally as amazing.
Judd Ripley is a fantastic tattoo artist and painter.
Another great tattoo artist and painter is Job de Quay.
(I'm lucky enough to have this number hanging in my house)
So please, show me what you like. _________________

John Baizley, front man for Baroness. His art is becoming a bit over saturated on the CD cover market at the moment, but nevertheless he is awesome.
and of course Dave McKean of Sandman and a million metal album covers.
Dan Seagrave, another CD cover artist of fame

I'm a Taron lover. Much of his style of 3D/2D inspires my own work in art:

That looks almost Art Nouveau style... which brings me to one of my favourite artists of all time - Alphonse Mucha.

Subbastard - same thing happened with Jacob Bannon's (Converge front man) art work. There was a period where it seemed like if you were a hardcore (term used loosely, of course) band, your art had to be done by Bannon.
Denny - the third image is freaking awesome!
Also, just realised Judd has put my lighthouse up in his tattoo section. Hit "tattoos", and I'm second from the top in the left column. Hover over it to see it, complete with his stupid little commentary. Bless the ol' salt. _________________

I am, but it's a moniker used by few. I owned a scooter (ala Vespa, not those little fold away guys) about four years ago. One person started calling me Scooter Girl, and the name stuck. _________________

I find myself staring at Zdzislaw Beksinski's work for far longer than might be considered healthy. He was a Polish painter who had no formal training, which is pretty remarkable for obvious reasons.
As you can see, he's got a certain... vibe.
The majority of his work centers around nightmare-scapes, although he has also done a quite a few portraits with that same surreal, gothic tone. It's spellbinding stuff. That last painting blows my mind every time I see it.
You can find his entire catalogue here. _________________

Great thread Tanya. Grim, you're right very art-nouveau, and very Alphonse too. _________________ I'd be apathetic, but I can't be arsed.

also a fan of mucha here.
tamara de lempicka's stuff is lovely too.
more of a traditional favourite would be Waterhouse - he manages to capture feminine beauty/seduction very well.

Artists that have inspired me.
Sam M who after he inspired me all through highschool I had the good fortune of going to uni with. Cool guy
Skottie Young, mostly his earlier stuff when it was still really cartoony. I still love his new stuff and it's great to see him change it up, but I've really gone my own way since then and it isn't as heavy an influence anymore.
Cheeks who while also being an awesome artist is just such a damm nice guy. When I used to be into DA, he would respond to every single comment on his pictures, even though he'd get literally thousands of them.
Jammie Hewlett, love his shapes and faces, that and the way he merges 2d with 3d.
Ben Templesmith, I love this guys style. But not so much digging on his subject matter. But jesus the way he combines traditional and digital media is amazing. He's also the reason I took up water colours when he turned me onto the idea that a water colour doesn't have to just be a painting, but can be part of an illustration, part digital, part pop art, part painting etc.
James Jean. His art is beautifull. I really can't think of any other art that is more worthy of that descriptor. I mean the guy made a Target ad and it was beautiful for gods sake.
I'll probably think of more later as I have so many artists that I love but this will do for now. _________________

Bump for finding an amazing 3D artist by the name of Jose Alves Da Silva. His renders are fucking amazing. If he didn't have the 3D models I wouldn't have beleived they were 3D.
