That's just the colours being inverted. I doubt it means anything other then a flashy way to cut.
I didn't notice the white hair in the screenshots though.
I still refuse to believe that's Dante untill they come out and say "This is Dante"

Doesn't the whole trailer pretty much says "what is your name" and at the end he replies "My name is Dante".
Who else could it be? Another Dante? Dante clone? Trish in a Dante suit? Nariko in a Dante suit? The possibilties could be endless!

Funny thing is, new Dante looks more like old god smack prince.
I have to admit, the more I look at it the more he's growing on me. And the chain smoking while fighting is awesome (I don't care how cancerous it is, smoking looks cool)

This reminds me of all the rage flowing about years ago when The Wind Waker was unveiled.

the Wind Waker rage was about them changing the art style of a game with a tenuous grasp on continuity that has changed styles countless times.
This is about them changing the main character to someone completely different in a game that previously had a strict continuity and followed the plot of one specific character

They're both cosmetic paradigm shifts; there really is very little difference between the two. Half the reason people feel that this "new" Dante (assuming it's even the same Dante) is terrible is simply because he seems to inspired by Twilight.
To me, he actually looks part-devil now.

But Dante is a well known Capcom character. How could they change him to a completely different person. I'm confused. It's like making Leon S Kennedy a chick in the next resident evil game. I'm certainly a little annoyed.
But anyway, will still lookout for this and see how it goes.
