In the new version of Catalyst they really did hide that scaling option quite well. _________________ I'd be apathetic, but I can't be arsed.

Is there a way to make it permanent so it doesn't go back to stupid sized screen every time I restart my computer? _________________

Hmm, am probably going to get my friends busted 360 in a week or so. Have been looking at some vids and have decided to use the X clamp fix as opposed to the penny fix. Only problem is some of the tutorials overheat the 360 for 30 minutes after finishing but some don't. Am not sure if I'm meant to? Any help?
Thanks. _________________

I have an ATI 4870x2 and have run into the exact same problem as you probably 3 times, and each time I fixed it using Catalyst Control Center.
Going to be a bit hard to explain, but I'll try my best.
*open Catalyst Control Center - Advanced
*In the top left corner, there should be a tab called 'graphics'. Click that and then 'desktops and displays'
*There should be a monitor in the bottom left hand corner with the number '1' over it. Right click that then click 'configure'
*Then click on the 'scaling options' tab hen just adjust the overscan/underscan until the monitor fits the screen.
*Have a beer. Problem solved. |
I did this and it worked fine, but I have to do it every time I boot up or restart my computer, is there a way to keep the setting? When I go to change it again it seems to be on the correct setting, I have to drag it off the correct setting and put it back on to make it go back to normal... _________________

best bet is going to overseas sites for them, as australia is pretty terrible for anything related. so expect some shipping charges.
the best sites ive found are:
ToysLogic
salesmanb2b
AmiAmi
Toys Logic is probably the best for wallscrolls etc, and salesmanb2b isnt too bad either. amiami is more for figures etc, but also has some other stuff in stock.
but ive ordered from ToysLogic before, and they are really good. shipping is always going to be a pain though, but the prices are cheap enough that it kind of balances the cost of shipping. apart from that
but if you are looking specifically for australian stores, http://www.tamarket.com.au/ has some merch aswell, but the prices have been too high for me to buy from them, so i dont know about shipping costs or anything like that. you could also try madmans store, but again, ive found it cheaper elsewhere and havent bought from them. _________________

Ok, so I'm thinking about buying an iPod Touch. I have a 120 GB classic that works fine, but the only reason I didn't get the Touch in the first place was because they were only 8 GB when I got mine 2 years ago, and I already had 12 GB of songs. My music collection has grown now to about 14 GB of songs. I also have a few GB of Podcasts and other videos. My question is, will the 32 GB be enough, or do I need to go for the 64 GB? The 32 GB will already be half full, and I haven't got any apps yet. If I end up with, say, a couple hundred apps (Quite possible considering the average is supposedly around 80) will I have enough space on a 32 GB iPod to fit them all
I figure this is a good place to ask, since I'll probably have similar usage to a lot of the people here.

Are you looking to replace the Classic with the Touch?
I've got a full 160gb classic, which I've had since the 160gb came out (huge music junkie here), and had not purchased in a iPod prior to that as I had always known I would require 100gb + in a portable mp3 player.
Was a bit hesitant in getting an iPhone due to the 'oh my god, it has less storage space!' factor, but ended up biting the bullet and getting a 32gb anyway (prior to this, I was carting my 160 Classic for music, and my N95 was my phone).
These days, my iPhone is my day-to-day device (phone, music on the go), and my 160 Classic is more for when I'm travelling long distances, driving in the car, and the saving grace for house parties.
About 6gb of the 32 is for apps, 20gb for music, and the rest for photos. I only sync the latest of each podcast I subscribe to. I quite frequently update/ edit the playlist of albums which I do sync to my iPhone playlist. You know what? I survive _________________

Yes, adam and the ants for one and secondly god is a big friend of the ants and is possibly one itself, because i got my arse kicked by karma for burning them with a magnifying glass.
It would appear i stepped on an ant and it came looking for me in a big way by spending a month and a half in hospital with severe burns, from an oil fire, totally unrelated, on the same day i had started the scorched earth policy on the ant empire out in the backyard, i avoid killing all bugs these days. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Just to be clear... you weren't trying to burn the ants out of the backyard with the oil... right?
I find ant killer 'sand granules' work best. _________________

I think they were making chips on the stove from my memory of that day... although my memories from that entire era are somewhat hazy to say the least. _________________ I'd be apathetic, but I can't be arsed.

Just wondering, anyone did Laser Dentistry for teeth cleaning? I'm due for a teeth cleaning but I currently hate going to my local dentist because it is SO PAINFUL . Used to go to a different one that was less painful but he moved overseas now.
I am curious as to the cost of this painless procedure. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

A bunch of people I work with swear by one of the laser dentists we have in Perth. It is quite expensive compared to regular dentistry though _________________

Thanks for that grim
Bummer, checked the location of the nearest possible one and its over 15km away :S . Guess I'll have to "man" up for now and do the traditional cleaning. So hope in 5 years time, its the norm and and is everywhere and cheap! _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Or you could just not go?
I'm trying to get back in the habit of yearly visits. Went for like 10 years after high school with no dentistry. Going for my second appt after that in a few weeks time. The hygiene visit (clean?) hurts more than a filling. Damn that scraper hook thing they use. _________________

Wee, random question time!
I'm probably going to upgrade my phone early next year and I'm just trying to suss out which I'm going to get, I'm sticking with Nokia so don't bother trying to peddle anything else (moreso because I can't be arsed changing software on my PC to accommodate a new device) but I can't decide which I'd prefer.
I'm trying to decide between the N900 or the N8 (which isn't out yet but should be next year) the annoying thing is that both have features I want, currently I'm leaning ever so slightly to the N8 because I would make great use of the high res video (bands!).
That said, from what I hear of the Desire HD it'd probably cover every base for me, but we'll see how we go with this for now.
Now obviously I know it's not fashionable to want anything other than a Desire or an iPhone, but anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Weird. I was in Japan in March/April and my 3G with Optus worked fine over there. _________________
