Who wishes Megaman could crouch?
Me! If he can walk, his knees bend so the dude should duck when I tell him!

While waiting for Megaman Zero on GBA Ive been playing Megaman a bit on the SNES and NES, and the question keeps popping up. Why cant this dude crouch? Why cant the little guy kneel, duck or generally make himself closer to the ground?

Does anyone know the reason Megaman cant duck? Is there some interesting character backstory? Gameplay wise, does it add anything, or is it just irritating?

Thoughts people?

I think it's just there to piss you off... I actually never realised it until you just said it, but it is actually quite annoying...

I always thought he could crouch!

That's probably what happens to your memories if you haven't played something for 10 years icon_redface.gif

Ha ha... yeah, I wish he could crouch.
Hm... I wonder about MegaMan Zero...

(BTW. Shouldn't this be in Classic Gaming?)

True. but the Advance board needs as much traffic as it can get. Besides, its kinda related, as Megaman next big game is GBA exclusive.

If megaman could crouch, the world would become a better place. Just nobody would notice it icon_wink.gif

I don't mind it. If the game is possible without crouching then so be it.

What irritates me is so many times a shot will be at mid height and I'll instinctively think "Thats easily avoided" and push down on the D-pad... only to be reminded that the dude dont crouch at all.

I cant see them changing it for Megaman Zero. Its always been the case. Or Im I mistaken? Does anyone know of any Megaman game where you can actually crouch? Maybe that one-on-one Megaman fighting game that was in the arcades?

You can crouch in Megaman X6, but in Megaman Zero you can't.

Megaman was always more about dodgeing with jumps.

This topic's over a month old. icon_confused.gif Try to watch the dates on topics.
Wall kicking and grabbing (I'm talking Megaman Zero here) is very cool. As is charging and doing extra high/long jumps, all to avoid being hit. Much better than crouching icon_lol_old.gif
