Very psyched for this show, naturally. We're certainly getting our arses in gear over at Pilkipedia to keep coverage at a maximum, though as always they're not exactly flooding us with info. Once it broadcasts over here though, expect lengthy episode descriptions and plenty of screenshots.
Gonna be the best thing since podcast series 1 I reckon. _________________

Ever since Adam introduced me to Karl, I've been hooked. The single greatest podcast since SModcast. Will be watching. _________________

It was a fantastic preview. Seems to have really captured people too, I wasn't so sure that it would, considering his previous (original-)TV work which pretty much bombed; 'the masses' generally don't understand him. The response has been amazing though. _________________

watched it. laughed.
but i think he needs Ricky and Steve to bounce off of.
i mean it still had his trademark naivetƩ, but i think he's funniest when Ricky or Steve ask him to qualify his statements, where he usually digs himself further in.
maybe he just hasn't built that rapport with the crew following him yet, i dunno...
still very much worth watching though. _________________

This was honestly the only thing that had me worried about the series. I was wondering if the phenomenon that is Karl could really function on his own. Sounds like the answer is 'sort of'.
I guess that's good enough for me. I'll have to grab the next month though as my net is on the brink of cappage. _________________

I thought it was hilarious. I was expecting it to be....not so funny due to the above reasons, but i laughed out loud on many occasions.
He may be "dumb" etc....but some of his observations are quite witty.
Cant wait for the rest. _________________ XBL/PSN/Steam: BenC82

I watched all episodes and its often very funny.. But while funny I also find something continually annoying about how ignorant he is about other cultures.. But I suppose thats where all the humor comes from. But really I would find him unbearable if I knew him in real life o_O _________________

Watched it last night... think I ruined it by watching so many Youtube vids beforehand though. Great series, definitely one for the DVD collection.

Van Halen Ban Karl Pilkington's Version Of Jump
| Quote: | Rockers Van Halen are trying to ban Karl Pilkingtonās version of āJumpā from appearing in āAn Idiot Abroad: The Bucket Listā because his performance of their hit was so āterribleā.
Van Halen are trying to ban Karl Pilkingtonās version of āJumpā from appearing in āAn Idiot Abroad: The Bucket Listā.
The Sky1 TV show ā devised by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant ā sees Karl being sent around the world to undertake a list of challenges you should do before you die, with one of them being to perform in an American āGleeā-style chorus club.
He sang the rockersā hit āJumpā but his rendition was so bad, the band are trying to stop it from being aired.
Ricky said: āVan Halen are trying to put a stop to it, because it is that bad. But Sky have got a blanket agreement so we can put it out in England. But we canāt put it out in America or on the DVD.
āBut they canāt stop us. Even if I have to put it out on the web itās being used.ā
Ricky admits the performance is awful as Karl has to learn the song as well as a routine and gets it all wrong.
He added: āHeās doing āJumpā and heās so terrible. Itās the most mortifying thing I have ever seen. I was cringing. I was watching it through my fingers. You know when you wind a mate up and itās bad and then you wish you hadnāt done it? Thatās what we felt.ā |
Season 2 starts september 23 in the uk
