The more I look at these pictures the uglier the graphics seem to be. Just look at picture #5. Where the building meets the rockwall the texture is cut off right through a window. icon_confused.gif

Damn, I wanted this game to look real good but it looks really pale compared to J&D. icon_cry.gif

WHY icon_eek.gif

I hope it looks really good in motion. icon_exclaim.gif

damn... they still look terrible IMO.. Hopefully Nintendo will improve them significantly because quite frankly these screens make Super Mario 64 look good, and that should not be the case 5 years or so on.

Good to see Yoshi though...

I think Nintendo is just making them look bad so when they release the game we will all be surprised or something. 8)

ok, have you seen mario 64, lately?
obviously not
the polygons on mario are blockly and texture less, they just have plain colours,
you are an idiot

I'm not an idiot.. I'm just saying that 5 years ago when I would have anticipated a sequel to Mario 64, I really would have thought it would be a lot more graphically impressive than that. I didn't mean to exactly say that they were only as good as Mario 64, just that I would expect more from Nintendo in that department.

... and if you compare the screens to another game of a similar genre (say... SFA), they simply blow Mario Sunshine away.

Anyways, the game's launch is still a while off. I hope that Super Mario Sunshine's graphics will improve (and I'm sure they will) considerably. At the moment, they're not quite up to the standard of the next generation of gaming, IMO.

Surprisingly, these screenshots look better than what we've seen. But they still don't look like Nintendo quality. icon_confused.gif

Now compare these two screens and you'll see which one looks best. icon_wink.gif That beach looks too real in Mario Sunshine. icon_lol_old.gif

Yeah, even if the graphics stay the same quality that they currently are, you can always count on Nintendo for the gameplay..

..Better graphics would be nice though icon_smile.gif

Well J & D looks poor compared with Sonic Adventure 2 on DC, so there.

The graphics in screenshots always look bad because PC's have higher resolutions compared with TVs.

It's possible that the screenshots are still coming from a BETA version of the game, Shiggy always changes stuff right until the last minute.

Sonic Adventure 2 ownz j00!1!11!!!!

Yeah, look at Rogue Leader, Resident Evil or Star Fox Adventures' graphics... jaggered edges everywhere... absolutely terrible.. icon_razz.gif ...

Of course, maybe Mario Sunshine is the only game effected from this "PC Resolution Syndrome". ... I hope so.. icon_wink.gif

Since when have Mario games being about the marvelous graphics? But I will admit the aliasing (spl?) and textures are frankly shocking in this game.

I dont care that there are jaggies and stuff in screenshots, because there almost always are. But most of the textures are ******* ugly. icon_mad.gif

Still, this game is a MUST HAVE. icon_biggrin.gif

Hm, I have to play Sonic Adventure 2 sometime. But no one of my friends have a dreamcast. icon_mad.gif I have only seen screenshots of it so far. icon_sad.gif
Might get the game on GC later. icon_smile.gif

I believe you guys are forgetting both Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin and Smash Bros. all looked dam sweet (I don't care wha ppl say...Luigi's Mansion looks sweet in my books!) so I doubt they would release Mario Sunshine looking worst than Luigi's Mansion...that'd be just stupid...

Where hath thou's faith in Nintendo gone?

Comon. They aren't that bad. The anti analysing are just the crappy quality of the pictures, not the game itself. I reckon they look good icon_biggrin.gif But yeah, more texture variety would be nice.

If you resize the screens to half the size, the graphics look pretty good. Very colourful, but good nonetheless. icon_biggrin.gif
