Oh wise Palgners. Do enlighten me.
I'm buying some threadless tees using a Paypal account, do I have to go through the whole process of adding money to the paypal account and then buying the tees, or will Paypal automatically charge from my bank account when I buy them?
Many thanks. _________________

It depends on whether or not you've registered your bank accounts with your paypal account.
If you have done this already, then Paypal will automatically charge from your preferred account.
If not, then you'll either need to register your bank account with paypal which is a 3-4 day process or you'll simply need to add money to your paypal account. _________________

When you've got a bank account set up, it goes directly through PayPal and they direct debit your account for the amount. PayPal basically acts as a pass through, adding a layer of security between you and the merchant.
If you've got a credit/debit card too, you can then choose whether PayPal takes money from the card or your account first (if there isn't enough money on one it can use multiple options in the order you choose).
It's about time Threadless added PayPal as an option too! _________________

Ok update on the issue, trying to pay for the tees through Paypal, and it says I have to register a credit card with PayPal before I can checkout... This is a problem, because I don't have one.
Blah, please tell me I can buy them without getting one. _________________

Yeah, from memory you cant buy from an overseas seller without a credit card.
Time to look into investing in a Debit Visa or Mastercard! _________________

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaammit.
I literally can't get a credit card though, because I'm under 18. Even if I could, the sale ends on Monday and they wouldn't process it by then.
Well that was a pointless exercise. Thanks for nothing Paypal. _________________

Thanks for nothing Paypal. |
You did read the terms and conditions of the financial product you signed up for, right?

Not true, you can buy stuff from Threadless (and theoretically elsewhere abroad) if you have funds in your PayPal account. I know this as I have bought shirts from Threadless on three separate occasions using my PayPal and have never linked it to a credit card. It is linked to my bank account but I have never successfully purchased anything if there wasn't enough funds in my PayPal account at the time of purchase. (The credit card thing came up when I didn;t have enough money in my PayPal). I think PayPal only takes money from your bank account if there isn't enough in your PayPal to fund eBay fees and/or issue a refund on a payment you received. _________________

Shhhh... *shifty eyes*
I'm not really blaming PayPal.
Also, Till@ I will love you if this works. I just am worried the transaction will take too long.
EDIT: Yeah, but I don't have the money in my PayPal, I only made the account recently. _________________

Nah, its "instant" when there are already money in your paypal.
One way to get money in your paypal is to get someone else to help you send money from their paypal account that has instant transfer to yours if your account takes 5 days to do it (I forgot now because I am verified and have instant transfer). _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Sorry, meant to to say 'instant' money. Depositing money via transfer can take days. _________________

I have $60 in my PayPal account, if it's enough I can send it to you now and you can pay me back via PayPal once bank funds have cleared into yours? _________________
