Yeah, I feel your pain byornlewis, I share byornlewis pain. Tekken 6 was so boring and unplayable. I can't even put it inside my PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Tekken 6 RANT!!!
Scenario Campaign Mode
First of all, Scenario Campaign mode was the worst thing that could ever happen in Tekken 6. Forcing this mode into the main game of Tekken 6 was dreadful. Scenario Campaign mode should not been the main mode to unlock everything in the game. It felt like a bad 3d imitation of Fighting Force or Streets of Rage. The player was forced to endure this mode to unlock everything in the game. That was horrible Namco. You, Namco are chasing away gamers outside the Tekken fan base and some of the Tekken fans. The player loses interest after losing a stage in Scenario Campaign mode a ton of times. Players on the console version were unable to make the high amount gold in matches that were made in Scenario Campaign. Was Scenario Campaign mode the only thing that Tekken 6 has to offer to make serious money?
Ranking System
In addition, the ranking system in Tekken 6 was downright intolerable. Players whom played Tekken 5 DR online for PS3 had a better experience because of the ranking system. Players in Tekken 5 DR online had the freedom to rank up in that game online and offline. In Tekken 6 once a player reaches First Dan, the player is forced to play online to continue to rank up. That is unfair to anyone who doesn’t wish to participate on online activates in Tekken 6. Furthermore, the players experience online can become unplayable and, it can lag even after numerous of patches were uploaded. It is literally impossible to play a ranking match online. Players either leave the match or the connection goes out. Even Virtua Fighter 5 was more enjoyable that Tekken 6.
Character Customization
For die hard Tekken fans character customization might have been okay. However, for other players who have played other games such as Soul Calibur 4, the character customization in Tekken 6 was too limited. Players that are not a part of the hardcore fan base are sick and tired of not being about to create a character in the Tekken franchise. Tekken 6 only having character customization is no fun and very unappealing to other players that experience greater features in other games. The players can only customize in game characters and the items in the game are way too expensive and limited. In Tekken 6 the player was unable to change the color skin of the character and was stuck with whoever was in the game. Players have experienced Soul Calibur 4. The items where cheaper and the player was allow to change the color of the items that were purchase as much as they see fit. Namco, you try to fool the player with tricks like selling the same item with different colors in Tekken 6. That is unacceptable.
For Tekken 7 needs, must have, character creation. Character creation gives players something extra to do. Even if players are losers online the players can still enjoy the game online and offline. Character creation will not ruin the Tekken franchise. It will not ruin the core game play of the Tekken franchise. Those are failed opinions by the extreme hardcore Tekken fans. The main reason why character creation was not in Tekken 6 because Tekken fans were afraid that players will have access to custom move sets. Namco just make it like Soul Calibur.
Who wants to continue to dress men to look like women? Not me because I am not a homosexual.
I am now an Non Traditional Tekken fan.
News flash there are no more Soul Caliburs. Rumor has it that the Soul Calibur team is working on Tekken 7. This is only a rumor.
Hopefully the extreme hardcore Tekken players can fight the Street fighter players in Tekken X Street Fighter and Street Fighter X Tekken. Hopefully Tekken X Street Fighter and Street Fighter X Tekken will serve as a major distraction for the Extreme Hardcore Traditional no women loving Tekken fan.
One more thing Video Games are for enjoyment offline and online. Video games are made to have fun for everyone.

I dunno why Tekken 6 fans get so defensive when someone freely states that they don't like it for whatever reason. It's a game that polarised fans and critics alike. Maybe there's something to that. _________________

Yeah you guys shouldn't pick on me when I say I don't like Tekken because it's not Street Fighter or StarCraft! =) _________________

Man, I played some Tekken 2 last night and I forgot how much that game rocked. It was a pure, straight-forward, no-nonsense fighting game. Also has there been a Tekken game yet where the music surpasses that in Tekken 2?
The stages, the simple, lightweight roster of awesome characters, the music... the memories all came flooding back, and I wasn't prepared for how nostalgic I actually feel about the title. How did I forget you Tekken 2?
I find all these new Tekken games overwhelming with the amount of characters they cram into a single game and all the superfluous modes and crap.
That said, I'm seriously thinking about getting Tekken 5 from the playstation store. For $23, I can't really go wrong, right?

Tekken 2 did have the best music and had the biggest impact on me for the Tekken series. I adored that game so much. Tekken Tag was great as well, but since then I really haven't been able to get into a Tekken game. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Tekken 6 was a disappointment simple due to its netcode.
If Tekken 7 were to adapt more specific region settings and better online play, I'm in. _________________

Meh I'm a huge Tekken fan and I was disappointed in the game.
Your last point I wholheartedly agree with. There must be something too it when so many critics and fans who have played Tekken for years and years have bashed the game.

Well to be honest, he's not reviewing the game so he has no obligation to talk about the main gameplay. He was saying why he was diappointed in Tekken 6. People don't have to mention the good bits in a post about what they DIDN'T like.
Besides a game imo should be judged on not only the core of the game but all the little features besides the core. If they are going to add all these extra features then they should be accounted into the WHOLE product review. To praise the core but leave out the extra would be biased (correct word to use?).

For me personally all you mentioned was Tekken 3.It was my first Tekken and THE game that got me into the fighter genre. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

The hate for Tekken here astounds me. I don't go flame other game threads by writing 8 paragraphs on their faults, so why do people comment so negatively all the time about T6? Just to stir up myself and Zero?
Simply put, the game is solid gold and has had a lot of effort put into it. If you don't like the game, that's fine. Post it once to get it out of your system then don't bother reading the thread everytime something is posted just to repeat your dislike all over again.
If we all want to go comment on an actual terrible fighter, we could start a thread on Battle Fantasia or something and discuss a game that is legitimately b.a.d. _________________

^ probably not referring so much to me, but for the record: after playing Tekken 2 last night, I found this thread about the new game and thought my comments would be somewhat relevant. My post wasn't intended to be a personal attack on anyone anyway, if that's how it was taken.
Now here, have this random pic I found while googling for Tekken 7:

Pretty much that's the only reason I visit the Tekken threads - otherwise it used to just be the two of you bantering on in the T6 thread
I have to say I've never actually played T6 though.... So don't take everything I've said about it literally _________________

All this hate for Tekken... makes me a sad panda.
Tekken 6 did have it's flaws (then again what fighting game doesn't?) but for me personally I still found it fun to play with. I use to play it heaps in the arcades before the home version came out.
Lili says hush... it's all about Tekken 7 now. _________________
