I think this pokemon is very cute and I'm hoping they'll distribute it over Wifi for the english versions so we can get it on release.
This little guy has received a proper name:

More leaked scans/artwork over the last few days:
Emonga is the Flying Squirrel Pokemon, stands 0.4m tall, and weights 5.0kg. It is an Electric / Flying-type and has Static as its ability.
Gigaiasu which was revealed previously, is the High Pressure Pokemon. It is a Rock-type, has the Sturdy ability, stands 1.7m tall, and weighs 270.0kg.
Darumakka is a Fire-type and the supposed pre-evolution of Hihidaruma, the flaming ape looking Pokemon revealed earlier.
Shikijika is a Normal / Grass-type and has Chlorophyll as its ability. Its appearance changes according to the seasons: in the spring it is pink (like the Ken Sugimori artwork), in the summer it is green, in the fall it is orange, and winter’s color is unknown.
There is another new Pokemon that hasn't been pictured yet, called Basurao, which knows Aqua Jet and Uproar.

Furthermore, Growth now seems to raise Special Attack and Attack by one stage, instead of Special Attack and Special Defense.

I know i'm probably in the minority here. but Emonga, that flying squirrel... We fell in love at first glance. I knew it was meant to be... and stuff..
But seriously, I really REALLY like Emonga and Gigaisu, they're most likely going to be in my team once I get this game. Assuming they have evolutions... I'd be really cut if Emonga didn't evolve. I love that little thing.

I'm with you on Emonga, Waka. I saw it and straight away thought "Sugar glider!"
Cute little guys. I guess Flying Squirrel is a pretty good description. Also, I wonder if Invictini will show up as the Glitch pokemon, being number 0 and all. It could happen. (Yeah, azza put me on that train of thought)

I'm not liking these new pokemon at all.  I'm yet to see one I like, and the legendaries are pretty lousy this time around. For me, I think it's official, the designs get worse with each generation. I was able to put up with Diamond and Pearl's creations, but this is getting to be too much.

That being said, The rotational battles very much intrigue me, it's like having a normal battle, except switching is a free move!!! (albeit you can only freely switch to 2 of your other 5 pokemon) but i very much love this concept! I think that many MANY 3v3 tournaments using this system will arise, and be VERY fun!
