This year's already awesome. Kick-Ass, The Expendables in August, and now we've got Machete finally.
EDIT: Hey, Tom Savini's got a part! I was hoping he'd play a biker, but apparently he's a deputy (same role from Planet Terror). Hopefully he rides a bike now...
(For those that aren't obsessive about such things, Savini did the makeup for the original Dawn of the Dead and also had a role as a biker in it) _________________

at start. And I was just thinking how they need to air this film down in Arizona. It's like the stars have aligned for Rodriguez.
Trailer was incredible. _________________

love knightriders, i get the feeling i may be the only one. Love savini, if it wasn't for him and dick smith, horror movies would have never been so awesome...
highly recommend scream greats volume 1, but you have probably already seen it....
Love the story in it about when they were doing the scene where Joe Pilato gets ripped in half by the zombies in Day, but someone left the "guts" fridge unplugged.....they couldn't get anymore guts so they had to use this old stinky guts, when the scene ends and everyone just runs for cover... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Awesome cast minus Lindsay Lohan.
I hope Steven Seagal does a good job, every new movie I've seen him in has very bad acting from Seagal.
I guess Robert Rodriguez directs these violent movies to make up for the fact that he also directs the Spy Kids movies. _________________

Well, it'll be the first movie Segal has been in to be shown at cinemas in... god... 8 or so years, I think? I love Segal in all his terrible glory, so I have no worries about how he'll go in this. _________________

Where's Salma Hayek, Rodriguez? You promised me you'd have a part for her in every movie you made.
OK, Cheech with two shotguns kind of makes up for it. I want this movie to fill me up with its babies. I loved 'Introducing Don Johnson'

Perhaps you're unfamiliar with Steven Seagal? Seagal doesn't do acting. _________________

This looks SO awesome. When I first saw that trailer during Planet Terror, I knew I had to watch it. Definitely cannot wait since I love Danny Trejo. He's so badass _________________

I'll serve Danny Trejo my taco any day he wants.
I feel I should be able to do better than that, but I'm kind of out of it at the moment so I can't. My point is I fuckin' love Danny Trejo and am super jealous I'm not at ComicCon. _________________

Anyone else a little wary for this? I mean anyone that knows me knows I'm a sucker for z-grade ultra violence and this would normaly be right up my alley. And I usualy love Rodriguez non kid movies.
But Planet Terror sucked... really bad. It wasn't a fun b-grade shlock horror, it was just a crappy imitation of b-grade shlock horror that thrived on being ridiculous without any of the actual fun.
So yeah, I want this movie to be great, and he does repel using someones intesitines wich is awesome... but I'm a little bit cautious to be honest. _________________

Loved planet terror, own it on BD and seen it over 5 times. Based on what you thought of the movie, I dont think Machete is for you.
I cannot wait. Personally. Awesome. _________________

Dude, I say again: Trejo v. Segal show down. This shit is going to be the business.
(I am currently wearing a Danny Trejo shirt. I am hugely biased when it comes to this man. I also love Segal. And Rodriguez. So yeah... I don't know. Don't listen to me, I guess is what I'm saying.) _________________

So Pajiba's review is out and is pretty negative, considering how excited they've been for the film and how obsessed they are with Trejo it's kind of surprising.
It kind of reinforces my view though that the kind of b-grade shlocky charm that he's aiming for can't be manufactured. When you have a bunch of crappy actors, a dodgy director who know they're not great but try there best with a stupid story you end up with gold (Mega Shark vs Giant Octapus) when you get a bunch of famous people and an A grade director and try and make a bodgy b-grade film, the end result more often then not the end result just seems forced and instead of having that b-grade charm, it ends up feeling manufactured. _________________

You make a good point, B grade with a big budget, it doesn't really work....i mean these type of films came about because nobody wanted to make them and you can feel the director putting his soul into something crap, which makes them even better. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Which is exactly why I hated Snakes on a Plane, it felt like it was trying too hard to be a b-grade film. I dunno about Machete, I'll probably just watch it for the fun factor.
I think it needs to be like The Expendables, which for all intents and purposes is b-grade to the max, but it didn't feel like a try hard "Hollywood" flick, it just felt like an ultra dumb action movie. Really the only thing that would have made it any more old school would be a gratuitous boob shot in a strip club.

ok holy shit.
I don't know why I get surprised at finding shit like this anymore but still wow.
Machette protested as being 'anti white propaganda'
A guy from Pajiba has collected his favorite quotes about the movie being anti white propaganda
| Quote: | # Notice the THREAT to Arizona at the beginning of The Movie Trailer on the Video Page. This soon coming movie is a perfect example of how to start a Race War made easy. This is nothing new. You will see many Illegals and their Progressive supporters wearing t-shirts with The Plan of San Diego on them. What was this Plan of San Diego? — Tom Wilson
# Why is White/European Nationalism “racist”? “Racism” is a Neo-Marxist psych-ops epithet and meme created to stifle disagreement with Leftism, and to maintain and shore up the massive cognitive dissonance created by the lies and condradictions of the Leftist/Neo-Marxist worldview of psychotic HATRED of Whites/Europeans. You sir, are the one who is “f-cked up”. Not all of us will go down the memory hole. Not all of us will merrily go along with our genocide. People like you must hate that you cannot completely ban our views from being disseminated in alternative media. — Joshua Walter
# Whites are depicted as incompetent, evil, greedy. The White women in the movie are average to ugly. The Hispanic women are hot and in charge. The whites in this movie do so many stupid things it’s ridiculous! In the end Alba gives Trejo a green card that she got illegally through her connections and he doesn’t even want it - he does not need it. They are making a mockery of Americans. — Some Dude Who Calls Himself Tarzan
# I’m sooooo sick of being demonized in this “post racial” America! — Lori Wagoner Young
# Hollywood is run by a bunch of self hating jews with big noses and no moral compass. Who gives a shit about a movie named “Machete” that is unrealistic (especially when it comes to letting the gardeners run the asylum), bad and at long last insignificant. Do you really think it is going to inspire anybody to do anything? With lines like “We did not cross the border, the border crossed us.”, the only long lasting social effects experienced by this film will be an increase in illegals willing to give saliva enemas to IFBB pros for money. Goes by the Name of George Whorewell
# the anti white chosenite brigade of hollywood have done it again. as with inglorious basterds, its the hero’s that look savage and scary. ill be cheering for the bad guys! — Mark Dawson
# This film is absoulute garbage and should never be allowed to be made. I know about freedom of the press, etc. but this is a very dangerous subject. A ticking time bomb you could say. The fact is that the majority of illegals are not educated and can easily be incited to violence. This producer will need to be held accountable in the worst case scenario. — White Lightning
# There’s not been such an openly racist film since the early days of cinema where the pro-KKK ‘Birth of a Nation,’ and films featuring Charlie Chan and other “coolies” epitomized a cruder era of filmmaking full of offensive stereotypes. Today, those depictions have been denounced. Why then would today’s politically-correct culture who denounce these stereotypes accept and praise a racist filmmaker who pans to the Hispanic market? — Aaron Dykes & Alex Jones
# This Movie about Mexicans ruthlessly killing, terrorizing, & frightening Whites should be stopped as well as the Jewish movie, “Inglorious Basteurds” where Jews bash in the heads of White men with baseball bats. When will our fellow Whites see these movies are not just “innocent” fiction, but entertainment for rich Jews in Hollywood to watch us squirm until our final extinction. — Barbara Ann Nowack
# It was the blacks taking our welfare to make rappers rich, now, it’s the Meicans throwing our free money away! The movie will be a hit because its welfare supported…. — lost |
