Brand new gameplay trailer!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ttv7JQGHeI#
Quality isn't the best and embedding isn't available for this video, but after watching that I'm pretty damn excited! _________________

trailer wowed me with just how good everything looks .... very very robust 3D . Very substantial upgrade to engine, things falling apart. impressed...... and then you see his face and its like urgh.

i don't really get the character design hate, i quite like it.
it's different, but it's really only that he's grown hair between one game, and the next. Sam Fisher and Ethan Thomas both got shaggy between games, and no one seemed to care.
i don't like his new voice though... i preferred the old gravelly voiced Cole. a shame that is apparently staying.
(and that trailer looks pretty swish!) _________________

It's not a full screen video, but if that's 100% real gameplay then I have to see it's the smoothest, in terms of no jaggies, game I've seen on PS3. I honestly thought the pics released recently were bullshots but that clip says otherwise. Really impressive! _________________ My YouTube game videos!

how do you tell jaggies from a crappy youtube video that's that greatly reduced in quality and size? _________________

That was incredible! The new Cole looks more like the old one in terms of his face there, whereas in the E3 photos he looked completely different. Still don't like the voice.
Those explosions were so awesome. And his extreme new powers!
Any word on whether progress in Infamous will transfer over to Infamous 2 like (I've heard) the Mass Effect games did?

Amazing style aside, the music in that clip was excellent - if that is any indicator of the overall quality of the title, I'm sold already. Bam. _________________

It looks to be an ongoing trend now with a lot of exclusives, probably because of the recent introduction of Morphological Anti-Aliasing. It's something that Pandemics "The Saboteur" used (only on PS3 though, it's only technically capable on Sony's platform) and showed massive leaps with in terms of overall cleanliness of the image. Killzone 3 seems to be using it as well. It's essentially similar to running a game at 16xMSAA, just without massive performance hits.
So if that's the case for most upcoming exclusives (LBP2 is confirmed to be going that route), then helllllllll yes. _________________

If the 3DS is sitting somewhere in between the 64 and the GCN, how the hell are they meant to do that? Especially with all those extra resources being used up on 3D. _________________

Yeah, no kidding. The PS3 has had a total lack of AA-love recently (well, "always" might be more correct) so this new AA-technique (well, not entirely new, just under-utilised) is a godsend. Plus, it's making LBP2 look absolutely fantastic. The graphics [in inFAMOUS 2], from what I've seen, are excellent. The engine seems to handle things like a champ, too (I wonder how they're rendering dynamic pieces here. There are definitely plenty of light sources and explosions to play havoc with the engine). I just wonder if the FPS will dip as low as it did in inFAMOUS.
Ever since I saw the news that inFAMOUS 2 might have multiplayer (link) I've thought this but I have to say it now: inFAMOUS 2 is pulling an Uncharted 2: taking a great first game (though, I just have to admit now, I'm not a fan of the Uncharted games) and then giving its sequel phenomenal graphics, multiplayer modes and excellent gameplay. Hell yes.

I fixed up your quote there (only so it makes it more clear what I'm actually referring to though). The AA-technique that is in question has nothing to do with actual performance of hardware, it's all to do with how the graphics hardware is being utilised. The GPU that the 3DS is using is roughly five years old yet it's still providing excellent 3D effects (I would usually provide a link here but can't find the article I'm quoting from). The 3D effective is controlled primarily by the GPU and I dare say that the 3D won't be that resource-heavy in the big picture. What I don't understand is... Why bring up the 3DS here? Since when are any of its release games using MLAA..? _________________ Putting the pro back in alien probing techniques.

As long as they don't also follow Naughty Dog in ruining an awesomely unique multiplayer experience with unnecessary patches that completely ruin game balance and remove almost all the fun involved. _________________

HD trailer here. 720p. Looks amazing. Coles' voice is aacck and his face.. aack. lol.
but yeah, gameplay footage and graphics are MASSIVELY improved. in fact, looks so nice. And now that I'm watching it in HD, the helicopter is very reminiscent of drake vs helicopter. _________________

I didn't mind his new look. I guess some just can't handle change...
Must say though, I agree with what somebody suggested in the coments that Sucker Punch could always add the new style as a bonus skin. _________________
