Hey guys,

I hope you guys are looking at getting LIMBO, it is an AMAZING XBLA game, if you liked Braid get this now, its pretty much more of that goodness, but also completely different.

Just look at it!

Good odds this will be XBLA game of the year.

You can't go wrong with this title.

What do you other guys think of it?

Cheers

Yep, I'll be getting it. There needs to be more games like this around. I wish World of Goo would hurry up and get on XBLA.

Picking this up tomorrow, no question. Been staying away from reviews and impressions, but I have heard it’s on the short side. Whatever though, still looks awesome.

I have been running around the house screaming like a little girl all week, upsetting the dogs & getting weird looks from my niece, because I've been waiting for this game for what seems like years.

I can still remember being facinated by this short video way, way back when. I can't even recall how many years ago that was.

This comes out today right? All I can say is it's about f***ing time.

haha i came here to start the same topic. This game looks amazing. Reviews really havent spoiled much, but it has been said to be one of the best games of the year and even all time at IGN

**kinda spoiler...not really**

all i read is that it ends abruptly, but has one of the best endings ever

**end spoiler**

hopefully there are at least 2 other summer/winter arcade games I like so I can get back 400ms points...im looking at you castlevania and monday night games

Disagree on the ending. It does just stop suddenly. And the ending would have been a lot more interesting if the game actually had a story to begin with. It will create discussion though. Nothing to extent that Braid did or anything though.

Wow. This is how a modern survival horror game should be. The atmosphere is tempered by the lack of any music with only the ambient noises to really build a thick atmosphere. Coupled with the stark black and grey imagery evoking themes of death, mortality and playing the player with childhood fears of bullying, creepy crawlies, claustrophobia and drowning.

This is what makes a good survival horror. The unknown is the greatest attribute of any survival horror game and leaving the player to figure out the plot, setting or the why of it all helps build the mystery and in return thrills you and compels you to see more.

I don't really know the hoohaa over the pricing, I guess if you are still in high school or a struggling uni student it does matter, but for those with the means, do not be put off by the price and value of content issue.

Wow. Just. WOW!

Played the demo and watched the gametrailers review. Looks awesome, only negative seems to be the game's length. Definite purchase for me when it hits 800ms points though. icon_razz.gif

Limbo totally nails the survival horror feeling, with it's eerie audio and dreamlike visuals. Probably the closest thing to playing through a nightmare that I've experienced since ummm... the dream sections in Max Payne?

Had a go of the demo yesterday and was very impressed. The puzzles were enjoyable and the style and atmosphere really draw you in. The short length of the game doesn't bother me, I just can't spare the cash to get the extra MS points required.

After being horribly disappointed with Braid, I vowed never to spend 1200 points on a game again, but this and the upcoming Castlevania will most likely override that... assuming I can afford to spare the money anytime soon.

i dont understand why people wont buy a game coz its 6 dollars more than they expected. Not cause they are not interested in it.

I mean that is less than one drink. Also people saying they regret a purchase. You will regret that drink more when you have your head over the toilet lol

Got my points buying it tonight woot!!

^ It's the principle, you don't just pay whatever they ask whenever a new shiny thing gets dangled in front of your face *looks at copy of DiRT with $119 price sticker* icon_rolleyes.gif

You'll spend too much money on games and end up playing less in the long term when you indiscriminately throw money around on your hobby like that. Plus if everyone rushes out to buy xbla games at 1200ms points all the time, next thing you know Microsoft will start bumping up the price to 1600ms points.

I think a little perspective is good too. 1200ms points is around $20. A couple of weeks ago, I bought Condemned 2 for $10. This week I'm going to buy FEAR 2 for $13 from 365games, saving roughly $90 off the launch price. You can get full retail games for less than $20. Limbo might be amazing for an xbla game, but it is just an xbla game. With no story. And a 3hr lifespan.

I'll probably spend the $90 I've saved on wild turkey and pizza. Awesome.

Condemned 2 and FEAR 2 didn't just come out though, did they?

20 bucks for 3 hours is actually really freaking good in this day and age, I've played some retail games that are shorter than that (Soldier of Fortune and FEAR come to mind).

Exaclty and what makes a game that goes for X amount of hours any less worth it than a game that goes for longer. Value shouldn't be based on the number of hours a games goes for, but the enjoyment you get from it.

I can say right not that I've gotten and enjoyment from shorter games than longer games most of the time, so a shorter game has been better value.

I say support these delevopers for making something unigue and different and not just another stock standard shooter etc.

yeah, if only cars and houses depreciated in value by up to 90% within 18 months of being released to the market. I could get a decent house and a near-new car, all for under $50k!

Anyway, according to Einstein's theory of relativity, from my perspective, Condemned 2 was new when I bought it last week and FEAR 2 isn't even out yet.

And we all know you can't argue with Einstein. icon_razz.gif

I'd rather spend $20 now on a quality title and support the team behind it, than spend $20 down the track on another iteration of the same damned thing we get re-branded and sold to us over and over again, and have it mean absolutely nothing at all.

I bought prince of persia sands on release for about 90 dollars. A week or 2 later it was 40 bucks. I lost 50 dollars right there. I haven't finished it yet but i heard it can be done in about 6 hours.

That didn't bother me one bit because I am having a lot of fun with it and it doesn't really have any filler parts. I am also playing mass effect 2 which I love. I've done about 40 hours, but I would say 10 hours of that would be mining. PROBE LAUNCHED!!!

I would have much rather the game be 10 hours shorter without all the filler and prefer games that are a bit different from time to time. Hopefully enough ppl will buy limbo and playdead will make another great game that's 3 times as long with the money icon_biggrin.gif
