Your argument "I'm not playing the japanese version so i can't accept that as proof because i can't see it." is sort of similar to an argument I saw on GameFAQs, "I don't know Japanese so I can't accept that as proof because I can't read it" (both involve not having immediate access to a reliable source of the knowledge in question, where other people do have that source).
It debated whether or not Vivian (from Paper Mario 2) is a girl or a boy, and photographic evidence from the Japanese version supporting the "boy" case was provided early on (many pages after people had posted non-photographic responses). Because people couldn't translate the Japanese themselves, and were so intent on the idea of Vivian being a girl, they refused to believe the words of the several Japanese-speaking people in that thread about what the photographs actually said
It continued past page 40
(The thread's dead now, BTW, it's not up any more.) _________________

Ah, no need to get worked up. ANyways whats the difference between the English and jap versions of Final Fantasy VII? I could pick up a copy and play it through. I'm interested in all this extended info. I still dopn't believe myself that the person in that pipe could be Zack. There is really no strong evidence. I mean it may look like he is from soldier but there were loads of members in Soldier. What about all the cloaked characters in Neblehiem (Tifa and Cloud's home town). They're all wondering around in the houses in you final few visits. Like the guy in the pipe they have cloaks, a tattoo number and don't speak properly if at all.
Who's top say these guys aren't clones from the mako reactor or failed experiments of Hojo's work in Midgar like red XIII who also has a tattoo. _________________ I put the Funk in Disfunctional!

im over joyed at what all of yall think, how such a small detail can raddle your brains and make u think of stuff that isnt there. Anyways in the american version thats not zach, in the japanese version it is. Aeris can never be revived (but who said she actuely died in the first place? ) and as the man in the wheel chair the possibility is that its rufus (who said he died ) and dont forget about hojo hes a possibility (and who said he died even though he blew up lol) and sephiroth is definently not dead nor is he in the wheel chair, most likely its hojo due to the sepherioth clone bowing to him. clones only bow to spehiroth or hojo......sooooooooo.......... yea.. im not saying anything just something for u to think about...

Hmm , What do you mean by "That's not Zack" in the American Version? Having played both , exactly the same set up is there for the guy in the pipe although the Japanese version more clearly defines it is Zack through the script . (And needless to say , the translation was a completely botched job , and they probably thought nothing of taking time over the most seemingly insignificant of NPC's).
The possibility of Aeris being alive is an interesting one.
In the game , she is seemingly killed by Sephiroth soul (as he has not been reunited with his body yet) This in itself is tenuous as she has been killed in a very physical manner , by what is essentially a ghost. Secondly the location , set in the centre of the City of the Ancients , a place more enveloped in Lifestream than any other (save for perhaps Mideel) And thus the Scene may have been an illusional memory of the ancients (expereinced by the whole Party).
Fitting in with the anime Cliche of "The mad scientist always get's his commuppence" I doubt we'll be seeing any more of Hojo , Besides , he is somewhat irrelevant to the story now , as we see a deranged man obbsessed with science and the idea of returning to the promised land (The land the Cetra would originally return to).
The Clones one and only purpose post the event at the Nibelheim Reactor was to bring the Black Materia to Sephiroth , in order to unleash the plan to gather Lifestream and return to the promised land (using trafficked Lifestream brought about to heal the damage caused by Meteor). Therefore , the clones purpose now remains a mystery , and will most likely be revealed in Advent Children. _________________

Well we all know the question on all our minds is, "Whos the man in the wheel Chair?" So we all decided that zack isnt the one, and Hojo i still have to say might be the one, only cuz HELLO WHOM CREATED SEPHIROTH!?!?!!?, and last we have rufus which fits the profile more nicely. And remember sephiroth wanted to destroy shinra and the turks who belonged to rufus chased after sephiroth. so then why would clones bow to rufus, if there original despises him so much? But the again why would a turk sit beside the man in the wheel chair while a clone bowed down to him...perhaps it is rufus who hase taken control of the clones and wishes to find the promise land himself. OR MAYBE... the wheel chair man is..is...catsith..or the man who controled catsith from the shinra building when it BLEW UP...DUN DUN DUUUNNNNNN... _________________ "wave fist!!" "!!!!"

Yeah, I know I am late on this, but this particular thread made me want to join these forums.
Anyway, here is my opinion on the matter:
Someone earlier stated that it was impossible for Zack to be the person in the pipe because Aeris said "He showed up a few days ago". If my memory serves me, and it does cause I just played through this part again yesterday, Tifa found Cloud at the train station just a day or so before the opening Avalanche mission. Now, if Zack and Cloud were traveling together like the story says they did, then they were in the same area at the same time. While Cloud made his way to the Sector 7 train station, Zack, after being shot multiple times, may have made his way to the pipe. While the Aeris statement was used to try and disprove someone else's theory about Zack, you helped make mine. Thanks for bringing it up.

I just finished watching it.
First of all - wow. I am speechless. WHEN IS THE DVD GOING TO BE RELEASED IN THE WEST? I need it. I need it now - no matter what it will cost. Period.
Secondly - the film, as an experience to a devoted FFVII -fanatic, was beyond orgasmic. The film was even better than I expected - and I expected a lot ( and for a long period of time, too ). The *only* bad thing I can think of is the hunger for more. I would have gladly watched a four-hour film. But - you know - when it is this sweet, you really can't blame the makers
Thirdly - they nailed the look. The visuals were a-frickin-mazing. Pixar was out-classed by a mile here. The action-scenes, which were a-plenty, were almost tear-jerkingly incredible. Almost, and then some. The music - partly new, but mostly from the good ol' FFVII soundtrack - was, as you can quess, a pleasure beyond pleasure.
I know that I am gushing, but THIS IS IT, folks. The best CGI-movie of all time - a worthy follow-up to the FFVII -saga - the moment of the YEAR ( hell, DECADE ) for all Final Fantasy -geeks out there. I need to watch it again, and I would ( right this moment ), but I have to hit the bed. School calls tomorrow ( as unfortunate as that is ).
I give it 10+/10.
( Now I just need to get my hands on the DVD and watch this bitch from my father's 42" LG Plasma HDTV. Oh boy! ) _________________

I made my own DVD out of Advent Children yesterday. I added the subtitles and everything (so proud of myself )
And today I had over a few friends and we watched it on my 43" plasma. All I can say is wow! Ive never seen a feature length CG movie that good. The action was so fast and the sound was awesome. I loved the monsters although I was disapointed I didnt see a Chocobo, but theres always next time hey - heh.
I dont think ill buy it on DVD when it comes out here because I dont care for English dubbing - although ill probably get it for PSP.
BTW howcome all those kids had the same mother, are they from the US or something? There was so many lol (jk) _________________

I got a bit dissappointed when I found out the DVD would be released later than I thought. Doesn't matter cuz I d/l it anyway and it's friggin' sweet. It's worthy of being watched multiple times - which I already have so far. Can't wait to grab it on DVD. _________________

It's probably because so many people have downloaded something or other illegally. I've never come across one person (who owns a computer) that has never downloaded something illegally, whether it's music, movies or games. It's all the same. When I download a movie (not that I download them a lot because I pretty much prefer to watch movies on the big screen) , if I really like it, I go out and buy it. I have bought a number of movies that I wouldn't have otherwise in this way. But downloading a second rate copy of something from the net isn't the same as stealing it from k-mart, the only thing both actions have in common is that they're illegal, IMO.
The point I'm trying to make is that for me, if I download something, I'm doing it to try it out, if I like it I buy it, if I don't I delete it. I wouldn't have a go at someone for downloading something illegally because it would make me a hypocrite. Hell, I'd actually teach them how to do it and tell them where to get stuff just for the sake of it. _________________

^ the hypocrisy was what i was trying to point out, though maybe not as eloquently put as how you said.
the hypocrisy being that when i said i dl games to try, i get flamed to kingdom come, yet when several people say the same thing about a movie, no-one gave 2 sh!ts.
i wasn't accusing anyone who dled the movie of having a go at me, and i wasn't seriously having a go at any here either, it was supposed to be in a sarcastic manner, though i don't know if this was achieved.
meh, back to the topic at hand i suppose... _________________
