I'm not saying the game is impressive, and it definitely could look 100 times better, but for those who are Pokemon fans, the game will still be enjoyable. It's a shame that they can't go above and beyond to make something truly remarkable, though, and it's not as if they couldn't make the game something akin to DQM in terms of its overworld.
I guess that we all can see that the game is not the best looking game out there, but it will more than make up for it with its tried and true gameplay. I think everything else people want is more like the icing on the cake.
Pokemon already has a bit of 3D in it in the current gen, so it's not as if they've suddenly discovered the world of 3D.
But, thanks for pointing that out, I guess. _________________

I'm not sold on it.
The thing is we have a game like HG/SS which takes the best region of the mythos and overloads it with features, combining the best of every generation into one whole package. A semi-3D overworld and werewolf-mon just aren't doing it for me at the moment; what little we have just seems completely uninspired...

So it's yes or no even though you have seen 5 screenshots and a new Pokemon. Where do you all find this great gift to read into the future of unreleased games.

I'm not sure if that comment is directed at myself or not, but if so, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that I wasn't allowed to form an opinion of something based upon the information provided to me.
I never said that the new games are a write-off, but as someone who has staunchly defended Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh from the dregs of the original fandom, the new stuff just isn't exciting me right now. That doesn't mean it won't change.

but again, to be fair, the new stuff your not "sold on" so far is 5 screens of a city and 1 pokemon. forming an opinion is one thing, basing it on so little evidence is another. _________________

What we've seen is enough to suggest that its highly likely Gen 5 isn't going to be a radical departure from Gen 1-4 though. And I can see why people wouldn't like that. _________________

Sorry if I offended you I wasn't trying to. I just find it funny across all game forums that people can judge stuff we so little information. The x-com stuff being the best example as it's one press release and a screenshot. Anyway I can't see them change anything at all just do to the fact they have all been so similar and it still sells like crazy.

This.
Nietzsche, I wasn't overly offended by what you said, so don't fret. What I do have an issue with is the insinuation that just because someone doesn't like something that they are somehow bagging out the source material. There's a big difference between, "I don't like it", and, "OMG WHAT CRAP BOYCOTT PLZ!!!111!"

Well, I have good news about the compatibility between the current Gen and Black and White.

It seems that with the new movie being released, there is a bonus in Japan where you can download the shiny versions of Entei, Raikou and Suicune via Wifi. Now, it's been confirmed that these three will unlock something in Black and White, however no one knows what it could be.
But that means that the current gen will be compatible with gen 5 in some form, so we don't need to worry about our Pokemon being worthless once Gen 5 arrives. They probably realised that people weren't happy when all their Pokemon from the first two gens weren't compatible with Gen 3, even thought it would have been hard to transfer them with the new mechanics and all, and hopefully we won't have that issue again. _________________

It's official, the pokemon designs are getting weirder with each gen. _________________

I adore electric types, and an electric zebra sounds like the most awesome thing I could think of.
ONLY SECONDED BY AN ELECTRIC/DRAGON POKEMON.

New Pokeymans up on Serebii. Also 3 on 3 battles confirmed. Go go!
The big mole and mantis Pokemon look pretty cool. I imagine the other two in that battle (Sarcophagus!) would also. Rock spike thingo also looks cool. Actually, this whole set is pretty cool looking, the Pokemon from this gen are shaping up nicely.
The thing they think is a little mole looks like the back sprite of a bird Pokemon - specifically like an evo of the Pigeon we saw earlier - to me though
EDIT: Theres also a supposed leaked size chart for the anime which shows off new Pokeymans, including the grass and water starter's second evos. No idea if this is real, though. If it is, Smugleaf's evo is so lame (Smugleaf with extra leaves! Wow!), but Wotter's looks quite nice (appears to be Water / Fighting, or at least building to a Water / Fighting final evolution, which is cool). There's also some sort of koffing mixed with a bat and a larvitar looking thing. Anyways...

What's up with the 3v3 though?
Double battles I get, because it allows for Support role Pokemon, and then you had the careful balance of moves like Surf being strong, but hitting everyone, even your teammate.
I can't really think of any extra tactics/advantage you'd get for 3v3.
I'm interested in this though: | Quote: | | There is also a brand new option in the battle menu in what appeared to be a trainer battle. Along with Fight, Run & Pokémon and Shooter. |
A Pokemon SHMUP is long overdue. _________________

Well It took me a grand total of a few minutes, but I was bored so I crappedly cropped them into one big picture for all of you guys to see!
The 3 at the end are unnamed.
My favourite of those is the Mantis and the Sarcophagus. Definately want the Mantis on my team.
Also that 'leaked' sea otter evo looks pretty awesome IMO, might save the little freckled freak.
EDIT: That didn't take long. Enjoy!
DOUBLE EDIT: The Shooter command looks like it replaced Item, so maybe you have like, some kind of _____ that comes out of a fictional device, kinda like a thing that 'shoots' items onto pokemon, like pokeballs at wilds, and medicine at your own.
TRIPLE EDIT: Also, whats with that ghost with the 4 bra's??!?!??! And another of my favourites is the Black and Red unnamed one _________________

The bag option has been there in other footage. I saw someone suggesting that the 'shooter' option could be a very awkwardly named video recording option (you know, 'shooting') is there replacing 'bag' because its a VS battle and you can't use items there, but there is a VS recorder in the new games. Makes way too much sense. _________________

I love the Mantis. I'm guessing that it's Bug/Rock, as it looks...well rocky. I also really like the Tarantula, I was just thinking the other day that it was an animal I wanted, (Ariados and Metagross don't cut it). The other pokes look pretty cool too, although the sarcophagus Pokemon is just plain weird.
As Bish said, 3 vs. 3 is just plain weird. It will make the battles unnecessarily longer. Even double battles weren't that popular, so why they decided go further with that is strange. I think Dances hit the nail on the head with what the 'shooter' feature is all about. _________________

BTW, does anyone else think that the 2 seemingly Bug pokemon look the coolest? Just saying
And I thought the mantis looked a bit Firey, but that's just me. I might be insane. Either way, BUG POKEMON FTW
EDIT: OR BUG DRAGON!!?!?!?!?!! SQUEEEEEE
EDIT 2: Also, I get the weirdest feeling that the Sarcophagus is... wait for it.... Ghost/Normal... Weird typing I know, but it's not overly powerful, still has weaknesses, and seems to suit the type of pokemon. Just sayin. _________________

I'm leaning more towards Ghost/Ground, because it suits the Egyptian theme much better. As for the Mantis, I don't like the idea of Bug/Dragon to be honest. It doesn't make sense, I can get the idea of an elemental dragon, but Bug and Dragon don't fit, at least to me. _________________

That's not the same!
We already Flygon which is basically a Dragonfly, although it loses the bug typing. _________________
