Thats really good. $70 for a year and you get LittleBigPlanet, which is around $40-$50 brand new anyway, plus all those extra's. Thats a great deal.
So do you get LittleBigPlanet sent to you (Physical Copy) or is it a download? _________________

So are the rumours true, must you have a subscription in order to keep using these games/items? That was the rumour floating around E3.
How the hell is this going to work? If you sign up for 12 months, do you get access to past months or is it just a month by month thing? If I join up in month #2, I can't access month 1? If that is the case, why not just have paid *bundles* that people can buy. I.e. give my your $20.95 and you can pick 3 bundles to download. At least I can pick what I want them and not forced to have a bucket load of useless games.
Such a strange business model. Prue Sony, just not logical at all. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Doesn't look like much to interest me there.
I have LBP, Wipeout, shatter, zen pinball, infamous, flower, pixeljunk shooter and couldn't give a rats about themes and avatars.
Really don't like the rental model either.
What gets me more is the system features they seem intent on adding into this service which really ought to be for everyone. Stuff like automatic downloads etc. Those are core system features. _________________

Wonder if you will be able to get it cheaper through sites like maximuscards.com, like you can with Xbox Live etc _________________ XBL/PSN/Steam: BenC82

I'll be singing up to PSN+. AUD$70
It's cheaper than 2 slabs - a bargain for 12months. _________________

So it seems that LittleBigPlanet will be a digital download from the PSN. Also the full game trials download the whole game from the PSN to your PS3, giving you the option to buy the game and continue after an hour. I wonder how big the download size for Infamous is going to be...might be needing a new hard drive for this. Full retail games on the PSN is a pretty big thing to do, Sony just better keep the price competitive. _________________

This would be a whole lot more enticing if ISP's started to mirror psn content. Not everyone is on a TPG 180gb adsl2 plan. _________________

It sounds like it's reasonable value. Unfortunately I already own everything that interests me for the next 2 months. Maybe if they announce some really good stuff after that I may sign up.
Also there's a new site: www.playstationplus.com
The EU blog has a lot more detail too, check the comments of Playstation Plus Explained _________________

Hmm, reading that blog post it sounds like once Month 1 has expired, you can no longer get any of those things...even if you were a subscriber but just never downloaded.
Would suck if something you really wanted came out and you were away from home for the month.
Good to see though that anything you have downloaded as a subscriber you can redownload if you let your sub lapse and rejoin.
Really hope they price things for the full game downloads like inFamous somewhere sensible. Given a. You're just renting the game and b. How cheap retail can be (especially when you look overseas). _________________

Hopefully automatic download fixes this. If they are letting us know the upcoming months of Plus content, perhaps you can choose which content to download when it is available.

I don't think purchasing a full retail game is linked to your subscription. Anyone on the PSN can purchase a retail game, but the 1 hour trial is exclusive to Plus. Once a Plus member purchases a retail game, it is theirs and not linked to their Plus subscription. I agree with the pricing, I don't expect prices that compete with retail sales, but a price point somewhere between retail sales and RRP would be nice. _________________

I wonder how minis and PS1 games will work. If you transfer them onto your PSP and then unsubscribe, how will this work? Will they be like the themes and just yours forever.
Also the game-trial, does that suggest that full retail PS3 games will be available? There are only a handful available atm. It's a nice idea but isn't that what demos are designed to do and a faction of the download size......yeah?
It's a pretty interesting service. I guess they are going for the once you are invested you can never get out angle with the membership only locked games, which is horrible. It's pretty overall complex and I wonder how they will show people all the content available? A new page in the store?
I seriously think they would have been better off having store credit for game purchases each month and then all the freebies like themes etc. I'd actually be inclined to get it then.
Automatic Downloads, I hope they make this a free feature. I think the automatic firmware installation should be free for all, it's my pet hate for the PSP/PS3.
PS - Hey Denny, remember how you were complaining about Live and Gold access to demos? Welcome to Plus my friend _________________ Shin J Leon.

$70 bucks. Are they insane? $50 maybe
you don't get to keep anything once you stop paying you lose access to all that. Its not like they mentioned anything about this, boosting the performance of PSN's actual performance. If once this goes live, and trophies don't take donkey's years to sync. Maybe I'll considering support PSN+
a lot of the stuff they're offering as premium content like the KZ2 dlc, if you're not going to get it, you're not going to get it. I don't see the value in anything from months 1+2 _________________

^ In the scheme of things, I don't think $70 is that expensive per year. If you have a lot of time on your hands and enjoy all those mini games and buy almost all of Sony's 1st party games (for DLC), it's good value. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Yes, its not that expensive but going from free to paid with no actual improvement to the PSN experience (like x game chat) is a bit dud. And also because you don't get to keep any of that, what happens when your membership expires? Do you lose access to the premium avatars?
I personally am kind of sure I've said only about that much $70ish on PSN games last year and I got to keep those.
uncharted2 DLC
shooter
fury
eden 2
mvscapcom2
puzzle fighter
critter crunch
etc
yeah about $70 (probably less). And I get to keep those. I don't see the value proposition at all. If they maybe had those crappy QORE videos in the package as well... eh... still not. _________________

I want to get plus... i really do but unfortunatley it seems I already own whatever they can throw at me. Basically I pay $70 a year to second guess my PSN purchases as they might give it to me for free 6 months later. Classic Sony. _________________

Yeah, unless you specifically want the content they are offering it makes more sense to just save your $70 and buy what you want without the hassle of wondering how long your content is going to be valid.

the games and content they offering in the first 2 months, really hasnt got me interested.
but as much as i dont want to pay, the automatic updates would be great, im getting less and less time to play and when i start downloading a patch or doing a software update, 9 times out of 10 i get a call out before its finished so no game time.
so thats really got me tempted but that should be free.

If your subscription lapses and then you re-subscribe the games you have already downloaded will reactivate, so you still have access to them. Additionally, if you delete one of these titles from your PS3 but decide you want to get it back then you can re-download from the Plus section of the Store if the games is still there, or, if the game has expired from the Plus section of the Store, then you can simply search for it on the Store and download it again at no extra cost. |

dont think so this was also at the bottom of the playstation blog post.

Instead to giving away one DLC every month (which is never going to appeal to everyone) they should have made a members price and a regular price on the PS Store. That way more people get to access the DLC they want, more people would be willing to sign up for plus and sony would sell more DLC. win win _________________

If you read my sentence. I was talking about them boosting PSN performance as part of PSNplus. I knew that you lose access to the content. _________________

The price is fine, but I buy most PSN games anyway, so while the subscription will save me money on them, it doesn't add to the online service or quality.
Seems more like a content pack we're buying and not a subscription to anything premium in terms of features for the games we play or how we play them.
Sure there's a couple things, but how about some extra leaderboards or stat tracking or something to do with trophies? And cross game chat and even some freebies on the video store?
The price is cheap and I'll be doing it, but it's nothing special at the moment by the sounds of it. _________________ My YouTube game videos!

Just no. I see no benefit at all to getting content you cant just keep. Seriously, what do you get for your $70? A plus sign next to your name?
Meh.
Only reason I would join was if (and I bet this IS the case) you can get onto the FFXIV beta. _________________

Meh I somehow think Sony may have lost the plot on this one......
Im guessing me having to agree to the terms and conditions last night has something to do with all this + nonsense?
If they leave the normal PSN the way it is I will be happy and wont need any reason to subscribe to + as all I really do is play online and download the odd gamepack. _________________
