Its not much, but i remain to be impressed.
Already this game looks to me to be taking too munch influence from the film. Like Homecoming did. Though i suppose with a Prisoner they've got more of a reason to bring back a Pyramid head type character. _________________

I've noticed that too, but the press conference just promoted it as Silent Hill. It's probably just to clarify that it's a brand new game in the series, rather than yet another remake/re-imagining of the original SH. _________________ Check out my game, Awien Ambush

Yeah, but being a prequil it fills in the number 0 (think thats what it was called in Japan, 0. Interestingly, Homecoming was never released in Japan) _________________

Maybe they're including that godawful arcade game in the count. _________________ Check out my game, Awien Ambush

the fact that its western developed = minimum interest. Its nice that its for nextgen consoles though. Looks good. will wait for final review but I'm not gonna be amping for this to hit the shelves. _________________

Yeah it's looking more Western all the time. The music and sound effects were the only thing on Homecoming's side, and with the score now sounding like Dexter (it's the same composer after all) I don't have a lot of confidence that this will be very good. _________________

I enjoyed the Western developed games as much as I did the Japanese ones, because I thought they successfully channeled the idea of what a SH game was supposed to be.
As long as this one doesn't thrown in nurses and Pyramid Head for nothing more than giggles and fanservice, I think I might be ok. _________________ Check out my game, Awien Ambush

I thought Shattered Memories was a wonderfully fresh take on the franchise, even if it abandoned a lot of fundamentals set by past Silent Hills. It has my second favourite story in the franchise too, next to Silent Hill 2.
Its a shame Climax are not heading this one then. I really think they should be given another shot. _________________

Akira Yamaoka is not doing the score for this game. So therefore the sound design will be inferior to previous games. _________________

@fatpizza - If that is true (I somehow hoped it was just a case of not being able to have Akira do the music for the trailer due to other commitments), then it is a sad day for Silent Hill fans.

Akira left Konami a little while ago. He's currently working with Suda51 and Mikami I believe, on their game of ultimate awesome. _________________

I love Silent Hill, but this trailer felt nothing like it. It needs to go back to the Japanese developers and Akira. _________________

This piece of music by Akira Yamaoka is a testament to his talents and a reminder of how much his involvement in the series is a key and integral part.

Akira's music will be missed. It's a great loss to the series. I don't know if it will ever be the same now...

Those creepy sound effects - are they also by Akira? Those weird industrial-type noises and freaky deaky stuff. Yeah the series is basically going the way of Resident Evil in that they want to make mainstream horror/action games that sell millions instead of atmosphere and a game that's not instant gratification. _________________
