Hey guys has anybody seen this show yet. My mate was talking to me about it today and it sounds pretty cool.

Quote:
Thanks to a Japanese scientist's invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures "coming out of the coffin." Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out.
Local waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), however, knows how it feels to be an outcast. "Cursed" with the ability to listen in on people's thoughts, she's also open-minded about the integration of vampires — particularly when it comes to Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), a handsome 173-year-old living up the road. But as Sookie is drawn into a series of mysteries surrounding Bill's arrival in Bon Temps, that tolerance will be put to the test.[18]

Sounds kind of cheesy like The Dresden Files cheesy, but it's HBO so that instantly warrants giving it a chance.

Love this show. Love it. The season one final episode was a bit unusual but I'm still looking forward to the next season.

It's not for everyone though. Don't go into it expecting a serious drama. Leave what you know about other HBO series at the door and you've got yourself one hell of an entertaining show.

That and Lizzy Caplan is so incredibly hot in this. So is Alexander SkarsgĂ¥rd but in a totally non-sexual way... >_>

Enjoyed this show. Watched it as it aired. The guy that did six feet under (Alan Ball) did this.

the homoeroticism of the launch episode was certainly quite amusing. Sam's dream cracked me up.

More true blue in my diet = win

True Blood is back and in fine form! All of the past season's storylines have carried through very strongly. Tara's is a little shaky, compared to the others at least, but I'm betting it'll come around soon enough.

Highlight of the episode: Sam's dream. That was a pisser icon_lol.gif

I'm probably falling on my own sword here, but anyway...

I was really quite disappointed with S03E01, actually. The writing just seemed off to me, and the overall pacing and feel of the show suffered as a result of them trying to address each and every cliffhanger (multiple times in the hour) that Season 2 left with.

True Blood has been renewed for a 4th season.

No surprise given this is now the most watched HBO series since The Sopranos. Vampires. So hot right now.

Episode 2 was great. After watching Generation Kill, Alexander Skarsgard is confirmed as one of my fav actors of the moment.

Oh... I just googled him. Had no idea he was in Zoolander...

yeah, episode 2 was great. Opened with a bunch of naked man arse LOLOLOL

and it contained the single funniest line delivered in all true blood episodes - when sooki said the line about bill coming back in and saying her name "SOOKIE"... I cracked up so bad. His delivery of the word was always something I make fun of when talking about True Blood but having paquin say it like that was so so so funny

and end of episode 2: this.

Yeah, that got me. Totally out of the blue. I was glad to see her get a redesign though. The 1940's pinup look wasn't really doing it for me...

Still haven't got around to watching the second episode.

Not sure if this is the right place to say it but i just found this:

http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/9780575095380/True-Blood-Boxed-Set

I am not advertising it but i just ordered it and want others to know how cheap the 8 books are. I will continue watching this tv series but i think i will give the books a go to.
