You should have stayed out until someone threw mushrooms at you then you could have made a kick-ass omelette. _________________

For Spacepony...
How to defend yourself against fresh fruit. Nothing about eggs, I'm afraid.

picked up a ... i'm not sure, it's not a virus as such, but it's not really adware either as far as i can tell.
ok, got infected by something called Protection Center.
seems the current in thing is to develop your malware to look like virus/adware scanners, but when you "upgrade" to the registered version, you're simply giving you credit card details to some randoms.
obviously i knew something was wrong when the program started installing itself and i was unable to cancel it, so didn't "register" the program.
it's one frustratingly annoying piece of software. will continually warn you you're being hacked, phished, and other nice "A Current Affair" style catch words to scare you, never mind that as soon as i realised i had it, i disconnected from the internet, in case it was a phone-home program.
i think i've cleaned it up now - finally.
at least, none of the processes it runs started when i last rebooted.
i just wish i knew where i picked it up from. all i was doing beforehand was checking some World of Warcraft info/strat sites... _________________

Had footy today, for some reason no one locked the change rooms and some low lifes went in and took the $40 out of my wallet. Mostly annoyed cos I didn't spend it on drinks last night as I was saving it for tomorrow or Tuesday.
At least they left my wallet behind and it was only $40. _________________

You want to know what ticks me off? Me.
I'm one of those people who keeps to themselves. I don't talk to neighbours because crap always happens and things end up awkward. If I was different, things might be different right now. I live in what used to be the mayor of Townsville's servent's quarters. His house was divided into 4 units and I'm in number 5. I hate it here. Underneath my place is the communal laundry, but it's more like a party area/where I park my bike. I resent the other tennants and all the partying that happens down there. It's not so bad recently because one of them, a 20-something young man, hung himself from a tree a couple of months ago. I was awake and in my home when he did it right outside my front door at around 3am. I heard him down there and thought nothing of it until his housemate was calling for help at 5am. I held him up while he was cut down.
He seemed like a normal young man. A few weeks before he was skipping in the driveway and telling me how he was planning to get back into boxing. But that was the most I ever talked to him. I wish I talked to him more. We could have been friends. Maybe he just needed a friend.
My antisocial behavior ticks me off.

Don't Worry mate, your not alone.. There are many people in this world who go through the same scenario as you. It's just about trying to put in the effort, to make a change in life; but most of the time, people just dont want to change to someone they're not destined to be. Its life, and people are all different We just have to accept it. _________________

That's some pretty heavy stuff Furianshi. Have you talked to your family about what happened? It might make you feel better. I don't really know what to say but don't be hard on yourself.

I was on ticketek's website at 9am (when tickets went on sale), on the Muse page, I refresh to buy tickets and the best they had was silver reserve! **** bull**** mother******* **** ****.
So now I'm stuck with silver reserve tickets, I guess it's better than nothing though... _________________

It sounds an awful lot like you're blaming yourself in part for what happened to this guy. It's not unusual to wonder if some small action could have prevented a bigger one but it doesn't work like that. We intersect a thousand different lives every week in some indirect way. Ultimately though, our choices and actions are our own. What this young man did was horrific and terrifying and painful, and it should be. But it isn't your fault. It isn't even the house mates fault. The young man's actions were his own.
The only thing your antisocial behaviour has caused in regards to this man is that perhaps you and he may have shared a friendly chat or two. Those are not the moments that prevent a suicide.
Even if you didn't know him very well, his actions that night must have impacted you, you need to find a way to deal with that other than blaming yourself or finding faults in your own behaviour. If this leads to you coming out of your shell a bit more then let that be a good thing you draw from this.

I once had a random girl ring me up multiple times and hit on me... She actually seemed quite nice but it was a little weird to take any further than that.
Pretty sure the first call was one made with a bunch of her friends in the background but she called back a few more times over the next couple weeks.

I had the same experience, and have many times before with Ticketek. Their site is ****ing shit and their business model is totally unsuited to selling their product to genuine customers. It's the same story every time, so it's geared to reward people who are lucky enough to get in and then buy the maximum number of tickets then just scalp the rest.
I refused to pay that much for seats looking at the back of the stage so I gave up and assumed there'd be a second show. I didn't realise it would be announced and up for sale today so it was by pure chance I came back to the Ticketek site after lunch and managed to get some gold reserve seating. _________________

just wanna quickly say, I'm okay guys, thank you all for your concern.
I wouldn't have normally brought something like that up here, I just had a few jim beams last night and broke my 'no posting on the internet drunk' rule. I've had counseling etc. so all good.
Even though I don't know them, I really feel more for his family and friends. With work, I see dead people a fair bit. It's just that, with this guy, I saw him all the time at home and so it affected me differently.
Even though you don't see it at the time, suicide is one of the most selfish acts a person can do. But it did make me reconsider how I interact with the people in my life. You never know hey. A kind word here and there could be the little thing that makes a difference in someone's life.
