Well it has taken nearly 10 years but i am finally getting my first taste of a SNES.
I am buying one off a mate for 20 bucks with Super Mario Kart, Mario All Stars and a cricket game.
I find this a pretty good deal.
If there are any games that i should know about getting plz tell me and I will check with my local pawnbrokers.
As for now im going back to play Metriod Prime
Best. Game. Ever. _________________

Yay for SNES! I still have mine at home... such fun. Definitely a good move to buy one!
(The controllers I have for my SNES are both unofficial, though An official one would be cool )
Btw, it's Metroid. (While I'm at it, it's "rogue", too.) _________________

ahhh...snes. had so much fun with them a few years ago. Used to trade a lot of games with sQuIRt. Anyway, lots of gba games are remakes of those on snes. Original versions like mario world 2:yoshi's island, DKC, and legend of zelda:LttP. _________________

Yeah the gba is pratically the hand held Snes really.
NDS could be the same sadly with it being a N64 handheld.
Anywho the Snes was my first console back in 1996, the best game imo was Yoshi's Island and Mario Kart. _________________

i'd recommend these more than anything:
Super Star Wars
Super Empire Strikes Back
Super Return of the Jedi
any of the Super Bomberman games (there are 5, all pretty much the same)
and of course Super Mario World 1 and 2...
and these were pretty good IMO:
ShadowRun (probably my all time fave RPG... though i barely remember it now...)
The Donkey Kong Countrys
Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3
Killer Instinct
Earthworm Jim 1,2
Jurassic Park
JP Part 2, the chaos continues
King Arthurs World (a lemmings clone, but fun )
the "Strike" games were also fun (Desert Strike, Jungle Strike and Urban Strike)
i was also always recommended these:
Secret of Mana/Evermore
Chrono Trigger
but never played them unfortunately
otherwise go here:
http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/itemslist/21
and go through the gameslist and see what stands out... _________________

By the way, I didn't spend all this time writing this up, I simply cut and pasted it from a catalogue I keep of all my games. That's why it has the turbo duo game (my only one!) on there, I cut it off too low! So add ths to the top and cut off Dracula X:
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Super Nintendo 1996 NTSC(USA)
Speaking of which, does anyone have a boxed copy of Goemon 2 or Ultimate Parodius they want to sell me? My SNES collection is pretty much complete for me if I get those two!

Why did you buy them then? If you got them new that's $300 wasted, and those games (if boxed) still cost a bit on ebay.
Can you read Japanese?

When I went to Akihabara they were in the budget basket for some 3000 yen (about 15 quid)...so I thought they'd look nice on my shelf.
As for reading Japanese , I can a little. Enough to be able to enjoy Final Fantasy V's plot. _________________

My recommended SNES games:
all 3 Donkey Kong Country games
Super Mario World 1 & 2 (Yoshi's Island)
Super Mario All-Stars
Rock 'n' Roll Racing
Super Street Fighter 2
Fatal Fury 1 & 2
Stunt Race FX
Earthworm Jim 1 & 2
Mortal Kombat 2 & Ultimate MK 3
There's other I'd recommend, but I can't remember them.
Rock 'n' Roll Racing is a definately a game everyone should play (it's also on the Mega Drive and GBA), it's one of the most underrated games of all time.

Assuming they are boxed with instructions and is in decent condition, each FF game would get at least $150 on eBay. For some reason, people will pay that for those games. _________________ The Almighty Bunghole

No, not the Japanese ones, only the US releases get that sort of cash usually. They'll probably get US$50 each, if you're lucky.

DKC 2 is the shit, best SNES exclusive game ever IMO. Mario Kart and All Stars are also quality. KI is ok for a while, but gets boring easily. It will also feel very dated as it's a game that dosen't age very well.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I may well be, I'm hardly a FF fanatic), but at least one of those FF titles he has would not be available in the US. And even so, IF they are complete, they attract bids from collectors who are only interested in complete games, none of this cart only crap that might get $50. If it's complete, it will sell much higher as it will attract more buyers. _________________ The Almighty Bunghole

FF V and VI were released in the US as FF 2 and 3 respectivley. I'll prove the Japanese games are not worth as much with some links, eh?
Front Mission boxed complete Buy it now for US$14.00

DKC 2 is the s--t, best SNES exclusive game ever IMO. Mario Kart and All Stars are also quality. KI is ok for a while, but gets boring easily. It will also feel very dated as it's a game that dosen't age very well. |
DKC2 sucked. Two annoying uncharismatic leads, uninspired unoriginal gameplay and great graphics appear to make a good game for some people, but not to me.
