Looks like game might be my homey after all next week. Wonder why they included the 1200 points in the deal? To match/beat EB and JB or what?

Out of the three main Australian retailers that you can go instore and online, I'm pretty sure GAME online had the cheapest price.

EB GAMES - $118

JB Hifi - was about $116 I think.

GAME online - $109 with free delivery.

Of course, most places are now sold out of the Limited Edition. I pre-ordered from Game about a month ago... so all should be good when it hopefully arrives next Friday as they usually try and deliver it by the release date.

As for the limited edition bonuses. The codes you receive activate challenges in the game. Completing these challenges gives you the Golden Guns, War horse and Deadly Assassin outfit. I'm pretty sure those challenges aren't there from the start and you can't unlock them normally.

I won't completely rule out that you guys may be right, just curious as to where you read differently.

Some Americans have gotten their copy and released unedited gameplay footage online. It's pretty crap quality, but it's out there... have to find it again. Guys over at Neogaf have given their impressions and according to some, as much as Rockstar want this to be it's own game, it's still very similar to GTA IV apart from the horses and Western setting of course. Doesn't bother me a whole lot though.

Official trailer is out now.

And apparently, PS3 users may be getting exclusive content. Some guys over at the reddead.net forums found gamefaq users posting this.

I'll admit, this stuff with the limited edition bonuses is a bit hazy. I'd read a while back that someone had heard for a Rockstar rep that the bonuses were already in the game. It is just hearsay but I didn't have any reason to doubt it. Why lie about something like that?

Regardless of how it ends up, I still don't see the value in these sorts of bonuses. Games are easy enough as it is these days; I'd rather not pay a premium to recieve items that make them even easier from (probably) the outset. I can't help but feel it'll break the game somehow.

I don't really understand the complete absence of PS3 info about this game. There's been zero word on anything and now with only a few days till release, there's talk about exclusive content! Why won't Rockstar come out and just say something. Anything!

So is there any reason to get a specific version? I'm still not sure what version to get. The bonus content of the PS3 version isn't swaying me that way yet.

I reckon just go with the standard edition, I don't like collector's edition's with "exclusive" content that you unlock anyway, I never listen to the CD's either. I'll be importing it from the UK.

Ah, sorry I used the wrong word. I'm definitely going to just get the standard version, but I'm not sure which platform. Has anyone heard anything about performance? Any issues with a certain version?

From what I've been reading... both versions seem to be performing pretty much the same, but I guess we won't really know until we play the game ourselves. I guess it comes down to personal preference.

I have pre-ordered the xbox and ps3 LE versions from Zavvi. I have not got anything from them, can anyone tell me if they are good with postage times?

Also I read that this may have DLC coming out so what do you think will be the situation as far as getting DLC off PSN and XBOX marketplace if I have UK versions?

Could use the advice thanks

Well, DLC from Xbox Live isn't region locked. So you could buy and download the DLC from any marketplace.

As for downloading from PSN, you'll also be fine there as well. Since the UK and Australia are both PAL. Buy the UK game, download Australian DLC. All is sweet.

Are you sure? The UK versions of GTAIV DLC where for different discs to the Australian PSN store. Thats really why I am a bit worried.

It's because the Australian version of GTA4 was edited.

RDR isn't in Australia so I think the DLC should be fine.

Yeah, expect about 2 weeks for your game to arrive, has taken that long whenever I've ordered with them in the past for a new title.

Woo, I have my copy of RDR. Played it til 1am this morning, almost pulled a sickie from work! I came home for lunch so I could play a little bit more, now I gotta go back

I was so tired last night that when I was doing the mission to catch some horses and jump on their back to break them in I misread using the leftstick to maintain balance, and kept using the right stick. I got stuck on one )@*%)@#4 mission for over an hour and nearly punched my screen! I facepalmed when I realised my mistake.

From early reports PS3 has V-Sync so no screen tearing, but lower framerates. 360 is the opposite.
