Wow... if ever I could think of a game that simply did not need to be made in 3D this'd be it.
You can't play monopoly without having the board, half the fun is getting pissed off with the other players and getting into a massive argument, then getting told off by your mum and having to pack it up half way through the game.
At least, that's how me and my sister's used to play Monopoly. In the 10 or so years we were playing it we never finished a game once.
Edit: L2R Sin. It's not 3D as in the tech, just 3D as in the environment... I honestly don't know what's worse. Do people actually want this much pissfarting around in a Monopoly game? I just want to get the four stations and make money, I don't want to stand on the platform watching trains roll through.

As long I can make someone go to jail, not pass go, and not collect $200, then I'm good. _________________

Mum used to take away the money tray until we had all settled down. On a few occasions when my brother was losing, he'd jam a whole heap of the green and red houses in his gob then spit them out at us.

Isn't that the whole idea of the game? I honestly don't even know what the criteria for winning is.
Creating computerized versions of these games is so pointless it pains me to know they will still make money from it.
To EA games: Go directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200!!

Well, just in case you weren't making a joke, the way to win is that one person has to have all the money/property. Basically.
Once a peerson gets to the point where they land on something and can't afford to pay it (whether by mortgaging or cash) then they're out of the game, you keep going until only one person is left.
The problem that tends to happen (especially with 3 or more players) is that two players tend to build wealth and it effectively always ended in a stalemate (seeing as each will always have a property or two that the other wants), hence the fights.
But yeah our games lasted for over 5 hours with no potential winner in sight.

Exciting? not particularly, but its the way a console version of a boardgame should be done. Whats the point of a monopoly game that looks exactly like the one in the cupboard but doesnt let you fight/cheat/gang up on the youngest sibbling until they have a tantrum and throw the board accross the room?
Acctually, this version just sounds like the DK board in mario party 8. _________________

We always played with 4 people, and some reason it always led into D&D as I was the mounted division and as such my roll of 7 would allow me to tear up the garden of some pissweak property and devalue it, likewise someone playing the boot would then kick my arse.
So we finished game, just not as... correctly as we probably should have.

When are they gonna do a video game based on the new Monopoly City board game?
