UPDATE: The PAL "Battle of the Planets" DVD's have been recalled and will be released again in a month, but this time with Gatchaman subtitles included!!! If you bought the DVD before the recall, take it back to the shop asap and they will issue you with a new copy with the re-release.

Apparently yesterday 'Battle of the Planets' became available in Australia on DVD. So far its only the first two volumes, each consisting of two episodes each (as a bonus you also get the uncut nastier Japanese versions.
I loved this as a kid, so I basically want to just get one disc to relive the memories. There isnt by any chance a G-Force 'Battle of the Planets" (Gotchaman) fanatic out there who could advice me as to what the best episodes are? Should I get volume 1?
Also, does anyone know if Princess Mononoke will ever get released on region 4 DVD?
While I'm here, what would you get out of these two: "Ninja Scroll" or "Ghost in a Shell"

My local Dick Smith Power House had Battle of the Planets on the shelf for $26 so I thought a bit, and picked up volume 1. Looking forward to seeing the uncut Japanese version. Anyone else interested in Gatchaman?
Ninja Scroll is fantastic, top-notch animation, characters and story. I didnt like the **** scenes at all though.
I'm glad to know that.
Shock horror. The Australian Battle of the Planets Volume 1 appears to be without some of the NTSC features, including BLOODY SUBTITLES FOR THE JAPANESE GATCHAMAN EPISODES!! The only reason I got the DVD was for the Japanese episodes. Im taking it back to the store either tommorrow or Friday. I'll ask them to check volume 2, but really, it looks pretty obvious that the subtitles arent in there. Brilliant

Ghost in the Shell is legendary. It set sooo many standards, heck, even The Matrix ripped off a few good scenes from that movie. _________________ Prove yourself.
