Nice. Now let's hope it hasn't been done in vain.

Yeah I probably agree. The written submissions carry much more weight. Plus they're official.
And yes, this is already on the AG's agenda so the effort to get it on the AG's table is a bit redundant. The written submissions have their attention.
Hell, I signed the GAME survey twice and wrote only one submission. In fact, only one submission gets counted, but you could potentially sign the petition a dozen times and make up names. _________________

It should also be noted that all these signatories are over 18. I asked if I was able to sign it, and was told no. _________________

Me and a couple of friends, all under 18, were able to sign it at Supanova. We asked if we could sign if we were under 18 and the guy said yes.

Anyway, it's still a significant achievement for a paper-based survey (although I'm not sure the comparisons to it being inferior to an online survey holds much merit).
The point remains that the AGs have been talking about the R rating being on the agenda for this meeting for some time, so perhaps PALGN needs to refocus its efforts for the meeting after that to keep the ball rolling. _________________

Egh you shouldn't have signed it twice. And even moreso you shouldn't have spoken about doing so

Well, to tell the truth, the second one I signed on behalf of my brother with his consent. But it's still not technically the right thing to do and illustrates how open to abuse it is. _________________

My understanding is that the 46,000 our of the 55,000 "public submissions" are just signatures from the EB/Grow Up campaign. http://www.itwire.com/it-policy-news/regulation/37364-govt-receives-55000-r18-game-rating-submissions
I'm still not convinced that the issue is on the agenda for SCAG. The Age was reporting its confirmed, but whenever we've spoken to them they haven't confirmed it. Either way putting public pressure on them to address the issue properly is important. Making sure there's a press spotlight on the issue will ensure that it is addressed.
I'm pretty damn impressed that we managed to break Australian records with this campaign. Resolving this issue is certainly long overdue.

wow just reading their past decisions on censorship, they had this discussion paper on the cards since at least march 2008, 2 years to actually do it....

There was an article about this in the paper on Thursday or Friday (Courier Mail)
I took a photo of it but it's difficult to read. Didn't mention anything about EveryonePlays though, it was all about GAME and a little interview they did with the CEO. _________________

That should just about be the final nail in the coffin, how much further does this thing have to go?
