Also, if people are having a hard time finding Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, apparently there's been a shipping delay.
It's possibly related to the Iceland volcano. In any case, look for it in the first week of May. _________________

Does anyone else find it slightly ridiculous that we're paying full retail for a game that is going for $40 US in it's native territory? (SSFIV).

Since when is $69 full retail? I thought that was $110 these days. _________________

Of late, most new release games can be had for less than $100 if you shop around. Or another option is to take advantage of the low UK pound and import. Some titles can even be had for close to $60 incl shipping!
I usually get my LE, or CE versions locally and even then most are only around $110, definately wouldn't pay that much for the standard edition of any game.

I dont really look at $110 as "full retail". That's more of an EB Games style price gouge.
Wouldnt you say that $110 is essentially a Special / Limited / Exclusive edition pricetag?
I like to think that in a competitive Australia marketplace $70 - $80 is the average that most new release games cost nowadays. My point is that Super Street Fighter IV isnt exactly a 'new' game. Capcom made it a point that they wouldnt be releasing this thing for full price, yet Australia doesn't fail to surprise us yet again..
I'll definately wait till the price goes down on this one before laying some dosh down.

No that's EB just charging the full retail (or RRP) while most everyone else discounts. But yes the average prices are far lower and closer to SSFIV's pricepoint. I think I paid $66 for SFIV on CDWOW as a pre-order, but I waited 6 weeks for it to arrive =\ _________________

Regardless of how you look at it - $110 IS the full retail price. It doesn't matter how many retailers cut their margins to be attractive to shoppers - the RRP is $110.
One thing we DO have better than the US is how significant the discounts can be. In the US a "sale" will have half a dozen games at $5 cheaper than their own RRP.
That's why you always need to keep an eye on exchange rates and monitor both US and UK online stores as well as the discounted prices JB and others have - in any given week one will be significantly cheaper than another and then it'll switch around.
For a while there, with exchange rates, the rising of the average US RRP on games and the big "launch" discounts JB was giving, it was cheaper to buy from them than order from OS.
All that said - if the game is being RRPd in the US for only $40, then it IS being sold as a less-than-full-game price, as their RRP for major releases is now $49-59. But checking online, even EB is selling it here for only $78. So to me it seems likely that RRP on that game in Oz is probably not $110. _________________ GAMEparents

Yes RRP for SSFIV is $79.95. When said $110 I was referring to the RRP of most other games. Of course there are those with lower pricepoints too. _________________
