Is this going to be 3DS compatible, as in will parts of this game be in 3D when you play it on a 3DS? It looks like a lot of the world is in 3D now so was just wondering if it was played on 3DS, would it be in Real 3D.
Black & White is being released close to the 3DS date isn't it? So it would only make sense to make the new generation Pokemon compatible with 3DS, no?

There isn't even a release date for the 3DS yet. The original announcement was meant to be at E3 this year so don't expect the 3DS out until next year at earliest and you might want to confine that date to Japan only.

Except the 3DS is supposed to launch during this Nintendo financial year, which means its gotta be out before April. And one would probably assume that they wouldn't want to miss the holiday season and that we'll probably be seeing the 3DS by xmas.

B&W will probably be DSx and the third game in Generation V will be on the 3DS as there's no way the 3DS will be out before B&W are released. I guess other than an aesthetic overhaul, the 3D-like aspect of B&W is so that they're compatible on the 3DS when it's released.

There you go. Reuters is pretty trustworthy.
I have a feeling that this game is going to be similar to Gold and Silver.
When Gold and Silver came out they were released on the Gameboy Color but you could still play them on the original Gameboys too.
And there have been rumors flying around about the successor to the DS for months and one of them was even that the Pokemon Company was one of the first to get their hands on the new devkits.

I'm 99% certain the Japanese press release that announced the 3DS stated it would. At least, thats what every news site and their dog was reporting. Thats just for Japan, but the DS and the Wii had near simultaneous worldwide launches, so why wouldn't the 3DS?

I'm honestly expecting this to be a DSi enhanced title. Yes there's the 3DS coming; but given the game is ment to have end of year release (serebii.net IIRC had the info) while PALGN and many other sites have noted the 3DS is due nearer March 2011 for Japan.
Either way I'll likely grab this one too. Just with Game Freak/Nintendo would release an 'all in one' pokémon game that had all regions and all pokémon in one version rather then a new region each time.

I see this all the time, and don't get me wrong - I'd love it if they did that too, but it's honesty never going to happen. Why would GameFreak bother increasing the length of the game and doubling the amount of work they have to do, when it probably wouldn't sell that much better anyway?

Oh I understand that; as said I 'wish' though given it's Pokemon I'm sure it'd sell like wildfire anyhow. But yeah. We can always dream right?
