I'd love to apply, and I have in the past, but I don't know if I'm even eligible as I'm currently writing for another site. I'd drop the other job in a second if I had the chance to write here though (its been a dream of mine for years). _________________

giving my extensive amount of hours on all gaming systems since the atari 2600 and commodore 64 i think i'll have to have a go, i have a fair opinion on games even if im a fan of it. i'll say it as it is..."yes the graphics are outstanding yet choppy at the critical moments in the story''
you get the picture...lol _________________ Got any MK1 Cortina parts??? email or pm me....

Honestly, I'd like to apply for this, but I've got some questions regarding PALGN's news posting guidelines.
1) Is there any restriction on news sources? Mostly linking to other news websites and giving credit where credit is due. I assume no as I've seen PALGN do this many times, but I notice a lot of Nintendo related news gets ignored and its often news found on other websites. In other words; as long as the Source is somewhat reliable, does PALGN have any issue with giving credit to other websites?
2) Does PALGN restrict news to only PAL related events? Can one report news from global announcements and titles not yet given a PAL date?
3) Would PALGN allow me to use my "Hat or no Hat" criteria for gaming reviews? EG: "This game has no characters with sick hats, 0/10"? If not, does PALGN have an issue with hat wearing folk? _________________

1) No, there is not, but the source must be reliable otherwise the news would be labelled as a 'rumour'. I try to cover what important Nintendo news that I can that's relevant to us PAL folks (DSi XL price, etc), but it would be great if the people that we hire could be really on top of the news to help us out.
2)Leading on from the first question, no, there is no restriction and global announcements and titles not given a PAL date are posted as news, as I'm sure you've seen many examples. That said, for titles that may have absolutely no interest here, like Train Simulator 19 announced for Japan or something, you can see why that's somewhat irrelevant. You probably see more PAL news than non-PAL news because that's the one type we really try to report to the best of our ability, knowing our readership.
3)The Hat method of rating has been debated for the past couple of years, but unfortunately its proponents were unable to present a decent enough argument for its inclusion. We very nearly implemented a system of 'Does the game have Albert Wesker in it?' ratings for games, but we pulled it back at the last moment due to how silly that would have been.
PALGN as a site has no issue with those of the hat persuasion, and has participated with the Hat community on many occasions. _________________

Ta. I shall submit a review and articles soon. You do well with the Nintendo news, but there is a lot to spread across two platforms, and I sometimes feel the news I post in the Nintendo forum should also be posted as PALGN news. Hence would love helping out in that department.
As for the hat issue, your reasoning is sound. It is a shame that the Albert Wesker criteria never made it into publications, but I think the modern generation of consoles would be far more suited to "Does this game have a character voiced by Nolan North" criteria. _________________

I'd vote for EatChildren, though. _________________

Why do I not know about these games?! It's so bloody difficult to find train based games let alone good ones I've resorted to playing a DOS game.

It is a known fact that both me and Jeremy are hat aficionados of the highest degree. On many an occasion we have had to restrain ourselves to keeping the review about the game itself and not a review of the various hats within a given title.
On a completely different note, writing for PALGN is awesome, you get a key to the mansion, a jetpack, a paintball gun and a weekly hug to be delivered by yours truly.
I can assure you the hug will be long enough to be memorable, but short enough not to be awkward, it will involve the right amount of bodily contact and I can assure you, it is comforting.

TrainZ series not good enough?
And by a DOS game, is it A-Train?
Yeah, I heard there are absolutely heaps of train simulation games in Japan, there are those where you are the driver as well! _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Why not read some of PALGNs existing articles to see how they do it?
