It wasn't as good as the original Gears "Mad World" trailer but it still managed to give me goosebumps. Throwbacks to things I love always do. Oh and Mr Bleszinski is very handsome... still. _________________

Bit of a meh trailer really. The engine is showing it's age to be honest, the lack of animation and facial expression is looking dated.
The games are fun though. _________________ My YouTube game videos!

Was pretty good XD!
Did not expect to see the female character in there, but the lambent.. I didnt think they were a 'new threat'... i just believed that they were locust who were exposed to too much raw immulsion.
Either way, cannot wait!

how can you anyone say the trailer/UE is aging. The UE 3.5.2 (or whatever it is) tech demo at GDC this year showed off vegetation + whatnot ala Uncharted2.
I've always said NEXT GEN started with Gears of War and UE3. It really kicked up visuals a notch and the new game will no doubt be impressive as well.

well - Lambent are Locust exposed to immulsion - however the Locust also regard the lambent as a threat. the COGs have never faced the lambent as a combined threat earlier in a game - therefore "the new threat" quote I guess.
with "bernie" such a lead character in the books, I was thinking why they didnt haven't had female leads in the game and voila!!

Honestly the story is very B-grade. I didn't mind 2 (I thought it wasn't BAD) but we play these games for awesome graphics (UT3 engine is looking poo now) and set pieces.
My favorite next-gen moment to this day is chapter 3 Gears 1 in the rain. Best. Graphics. Moment. Ever. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Very surprised they didn't wait for E3, as its not exactly a Q4 release (nor is it Q1 2011). Looks like we have a full year to wait which begs the question.. impart from Fallout New Vegas what IS the Q4 lineup? _________________

UE3 is still an amazing engine on PC. Mirror's Edge cranked up to high resolutions with AA and AF is absolutely amazing. _________________

The one weakness UE3 has is the lighting engine and while DICE kept the engine intact, they used an alternate lighting setup to achieve the final look. Here's a good read on it.

Oh, the UE3 engine still has plenty of weaknesses apart from its lighting engine. It's still rather unoptimised for anything but a corridor shooter. The amount of legacy code in that thing... faaaaaarrrk. What they have though is a solid content pipeline, which really matters more than what amazing new tech-of-the-day you can put in.
Foliage has effectively been a solved problem for some time now. Just look at those screenshots closer and tell me if they're applying foliage to a wide open scene or something you'd see in a corridor shooter. Even those vehicle sections in GoW2 made me go "huh, that's cheap, they could have put much more vegetation in there if they wanted to."
The limitations of UE3 will become more apparent as this extended generation goes on. _________________

60 pounds = 27.2155422 kilograms
I'm not sure if it was sarcasm, but that is one very featherweight gorilla =) _________________

It shall be interesting to see how the new Medal of Honor handles its single player then. _________________

I'll be waiting to see how the netcode pans out. GOW2 had some of the worst matchmaking I've come across - very disappointing. Bring back the host browser!

300-pound would be more in keeping with metaphorical correctness. :)
I also think SC2 might be a factor, there will be quite a few console gamers drawn back to PC later this year. Reach is the biggest game for 360 though.

^Amen to that...
I'll still be getting it day one and probably taking the day off work, but please Cliffy B bring back being able to search and select what game you want to join!!!!!!!!
And I'll be wrestling with the "60 pounder" on day one too... _________________
