Based on what I played tonight 1.06 is a large improvement over 1.05, however it still isn't as fun as 1.04. I haven't run into a lot of FAL campers yet though, so whether that's because of the new tweaks or because I've just been lucky I'm not sure.

Tonight's games were of course made more interesting by the racist redneck american cow myself and hunter(THEMAN) were playing against. After we managed to kick her ass about 4 times in a row she started having a go at me for not using badges of honour but then again if she's so great she should be doing better than 5-10 with them on.

huahhaha vs cow. that was hilarious. I sent her a message

had some real good games tonight now that 1.06 is up. Meh to 1.05. What a horrible way to return to Uncharted 2 after a long hiatus. I have to say, when the game first launched, version. .. 1.00? It could possibly be the best. I had a riot then.

MEDAL NIGHT

played a stealth game. snaped a whole lotta necks. My neck count went from 2--->16. Not the easiest thing. Depends on the stage. Some of them are near impossible as people are constantly moving. The facility and flooded ruins are both great for doing this.

* also playing stealth. My kill count - was about 12-14 per match (not all neck snapped) - but all the hiding = low death count. say 5-7. Hmmmm

got made it (survival) and gold digger (gold rush).

was wondering if BBQ could be gotten in survival - (I think yes) because I remember distinctively getting them there. Tried to get them in deathmatches as last night was medal night but it was practically impossible.

http://www.naughtydog.com//stats/index/HuntertenK
gonna try for the easier medals like the hanging+shooting one first.

Ok, so every time I try and connect to the online servers for Uncharted. I get an error. It's something like a "model sync error." Any idea what the problem could be? Definitely an Australian PS3, australian version of the game and Australian PSN account, so it's nothing to do with region. I've also managed to get online on GTA4 and the recent Battlefield demo, so I know that the online does work on the console itself.

sounds bizarre. maybe post on their forums/facebook page? Never heard of this problem. Do you have HD space because it will need to download a couple of patches to upgrade the game version up to 1.06.

the solution is on the bottom. Good luck~!

Terrible, terrible final boss battle.

Also managed to finish it with only 28% trophies. Hate it when that happens, you should get at least 50% for one playthrough on normal.

Anyway, was going to say 'great game but it won't win any awards' before I remembered it won all the awards last year.

You should play it on crushing then. *Shudders*

My tactic ended up being run two laps of the area to get some distance then hide in the same spot and shoot the same "sack" thing each time...

^ you probably checked something online to find that strategy as its not something you'd find out normally.

He was harder for me on normal mode. On crushing, I crushed him.

Train boss however is tough as nails.

I had a bit of trouble against him on hard mode, but beat him first time round on crushing. I was quite surprised after reading all of the 'it's too difficult' comments.
THEMAN wrote:

That train boss was indeed a pain, especially so on crushing. Seriously, there is nowhere to hide and whenever he walked towards you or you run out of ammo you need to move, which is suicidal. Still nothing compared to Uncharted 1 on crushing, the entire game became ridiculously hard.

I love uncharted on crushing. So good. It made the headshots really count and also cover. Especially since UC1 had a lot more instances of crumbling cover. The first airplane crash site is one of the few areas in both uncharted where you have to fight enemies who swarm from both front and back. On crushing, that took more than a few goes.

If only grenade throwing in UC1 wasn't so hokey. Hard to go back to icon_razz.gif

UNCHARTED 2 SIEGE

Quote:

Named the Siege Expansion Pack, the new DLC features the first add-on co-op game type (“Siege”), in addition to 2 new multiplayer maps, 6 new skins, and 11 new trophies.

Co-op Game Type

Siege
Pits 2 or 3 players against the AI.
Objective: capture and hold the territory against the waves of increasingly difficult AI adversaries. All players must be in the territory to capture it, so it’s a constant battle to keep the AI from assaulting the player’s position.
Players compete in one territory per round and the territory changes location every round.

2 Multiplayer Maps

The Highrise
Towering over the streets of Nepal, The Highrise is a map with plenty of opportunities for players to get the high ground on their opponents. Set on a series of destroyed and under-construction buildings, players need to be on their toes as there are many different jump locations and paths around the map. Players should also watch out for the incoming airstrikes, as they can clear the rooftops in seconds.

The Museum
Set at dusk amongst the courtyards and display cases at the site of Drake and Flynn’s heist, The Museum provides players with a mix of intense gameplay covering traversing across rooftops, dodging gunfire through twisting corridors, and close quarters fighting. Players need to watch their backs as there are numerous flank routes in all parts of this circular map. Players should also learn the secret climbing routes that will allow them to get the drop on their opponents.

6 Skins

Wetsuit Drake
Baseball Shirt Drake
Prakoso
Platzor
Glowzor
Dead Explorer

11 Trophies – 180 Trophy Points

Bronze
You Can’t Break Me – Complete all 3 co-op objective maps on Crushing
Under Siege – Finish Wave 10 in 1 Siege game
Speedy – Get 10 First! Medals

Wow, I'm loving the two new maps, especially the Nepal highrise. That just looks like heaps of fun to play on. Any idea on the pricing in Australia?

Also, Platzor looks awesome.

I played online for the first time since launch week last night to test out my wifi... and YEESH did it take a long time to sign in to multiplayer, like 20-30 minutes O_o

I eventually googled it and found out it wasn't my router, the game was downloaded several hundreds small incremental updates for the online mode all at once....

Pity the fool who buys the game new and tries to play online.

Yeah it's a bit of a pain. I played a bit this morning, first time in several months. I don't have either of the expansions but the Ranked mode just feels.... bland. I don't think I'll be buying the DLC as I doubt it spices the multi up that much and don't really have anyone to play co-op alongside regularly.

Ends: Monday, April 26, 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?)

Title Update 1.09

Quote:
Title Update 1.09 includes the following:

* Changes made to multiplayer character skin system to allow for voices to be included with future skins
* Made changes to character game mechanics to prevent players from using exploits
* Fixed ability for players to “super throw” the treasure in Plunder matches
* Cash awarded per kill in Elimination has been increased to $750 per kill
* Enabled the ability for Naughty Dog to easily alter the amount of cash earned for individual Medals on a playlist or gametype basis and per-kill

Thanks to some of the changes above, we’ll be issuing a LiveData update that will rescale Medal cash awards in Objective games ONLY. For matches which fall under the Objective modes, cash for individual and kill-based medals have been decreased in value, while cash for Objective based medals have been increased as follows:

* Tip Off – $1,000
* Captured – $4,000
* That’s Embarrassing – $10,000
* Protectorate – $2,000
* No Cigar – $2,000
* Drop It – $1,000
* None Shall Pass – $5,000
* Expansionist – $5,000
Source

I've only got Uncharted 2 now so no effect on me yet. Can't wait until I finish my exam, will hit Uncharted 2 asap!!!

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a whole year since UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves was released! Since then we’ve sold over 3.8 million copies worldwide of UNCHARTED 2, hosted more than 125 million online multiplayer matches and won more Game of the Year Awards than we know what do with.

Not exactly a bad problem to have.

To commemorate UNCHARTED 2 as the definitive Game of the Year in 2009, we’re proud to reveal the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition!

On October 12, 2010, copies of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition will start hitting retailers all over North America. For just $49.99, you’ll get the regular retail Blu-ray of UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves along with a “super voucher” for the PlayStation Network Store that lets you download ALL of the following DLC content:

* PlayStation Heroes Skin Pack
* UNCHARTED: Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer Pack
* UNCHARTED 2 Siege Expansion Pack
* Currency Multiplier which grants Double XP up to level 10 in Multiplayer
* Golden Guns option for the AK-47 and the 92FS 9mm pistol for use in Multiplayer
* Early access to “Revenge” Booster – you still have to purchase it with in-game cash!
* UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra – Motion Comic Bundle (which includes Episodes 1-4)
* UNCHARTED: Eye of Indra – Rika Raja and Daniel Pinkerton Character Skins
* UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves – Avatar Pack 1
* UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves – Avatar Pack 2
* UNCHARTED Avatar Pack 3
* UNCHARTED Avatar Pack 4
* Pinball Heroes – UNCHARTED for the PSP

Sparing me the need to bust out a calculator, I’m told the total value of all the content we’re including in our Game of the Year Edition comes in at more than $35.00 if you purchased it all separately — and some of the content isn’t even available for purchase separately, so the bonus just got even better.

Releasing our Game of the Year Edition in the same week as our one-year anniversary of release is not without benefits – we have set aside Saturday, October 16, 2010, as the date to join us online for some awesome anniversary festivities!

We’ll be running a special one-day only playlist which compiles a “Best of…” selection of gametypes we’ve chosen from previous episodes of “The Lab.” We’ll also have plenty of Dogs online nearly all day in that playlist to play against. But that’s not all – we’re not ready to reveal everything yet, so please check back on NaughtyDog.com in the next few weeks. We’ll be posting more details on all the awesomeness we have in store for our fans!

Game of the Year 2009 just got even better.
