Nothing north of Brisbane . Looks like I might have to make the same trip I did to the BDO.
Would go on a roadtrip to Mackay for Birds if it wasn't a festival set... _________________

Well, I'm going to MM9 tomorrow night so BLEAH! You guys should come, Jericco are supporting who are one of the best Melbourne acts at the moment.
Revolver, be there.
Edit: CAN'T. DESCRIBE. SHOW. TOO. GOD DAMN. AWESOME!
Suffice to say you all suck for not coming and missed out on a truly phenomenal electro rock act.

Did you kick him in the nuts? That's what most girls do when guys invade their space. They go square for the baby makers.

Came back from The Vasco Era without any major incidents. The new album still hasn't convinced me but their old stuff is so fucking good live.
Hopefully next time they won't play in a venue that has two giant pillars in the middle of a mosh pit.
But for $17...bargain. _________________

Just got back from Sounds Loud.
Amazing.
Caught a newish rapper in Seth Sentry, who was admittedly very decent, and was a crowd pleaser.
Later I went to see the Philly Jays, and they were great.
Finishing with 99 Problems, I managed to get right up to the front when he was coming into the thick of the mosh. I touched his head!
Finally, after 15 minutes of absolute squashing, Bluejuice came on stage. I saw them at BDO, and they really have not disappointed me at all, amazing live band _________________

Agreed.
Hanging out for tickets to get released. I'll be ready come early next month.
The new venue for this year is more handy for me as well _________________

I'm hoping for a decent sideshow schedule. As long as BRMC don't clash with The Strokes then I'm happy.
Seriously though, this poos all over BDO and Soundwave. _________________

But Soundwave/BDO don't come with this price tag - Event only ticket: $360.20; Event/camping tickets: $461.80.
All Tomorrows Parties (UK festival) is cheaper than this and it includes a self-service hotel room.

Saw Mick Turner (of The Dirty Three) play last night at a nice and intimate venue; fantastic! Great expressive guitar playing, a lot of the same textured, improvised Dirty Three sounds... just minus Warren Ellis.
Was an absolute pleasure to go watch him play.

...and I took part in extreme merch devouring by picking up 3 CDs, 2 7"s, and a special little box set that has some of his art postcards and an EP in a little aluminium case. _________________

finally saw thousand needles in red and really enjoyed it. Especially given that boge didn't sound like tbe boge, so the whole act stood on its own feet. oh and support from tread was phenomenal, in fact they had a far better sound than tnir, whichis incredibly disappointing.

Those prices sound about right. The last major festival I went to (Oxegen) cost me 250 euro. ATP has a much less commercial lineup so obviously it's cheaper.
@jemist: Where was Mick playing? I didn't even realise he was touring. _________________

I saw him in Canberra, and he and Jeff Wegener are doing a show at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney tonight. Not entirely sure of/ when a Melbourne show is... but, he's playing as part of the Melbourne Jazz festival.

Peter Brotzmann and Kim Salmon too! I'd love to make it down there for that, as well as Mulatu on the Monday, and Ahmad Jamal on Thursday. _________________
