Looks like a lot of fun, as long as that aiming system is ok, otherwise I'll get frustrated VERY quickly.
Looks as though it really is living up the the Grand Theft Horsey moniker.

The more i see of this game the more excited i am to get in and let my inner 5 year old self and go to town with cowboys and indians. I just hope that there are plenty of NPC's running around and plenty of things to do/see/interact with while traveling from point A to point B. _________________

Rockstar didn't threaten to pull advertising or intimidate, pay off or incentivise Zoo magazine to give a good review, it merely said something along the lines of 'This game is a big deal, mr. reviewer, make sure you evaluate it thoroughly'. The reviewer wasn't sacked for whistle-blowing a 'cash for comment' deal, he was sacked for posting confidential company information on ****ing facebook, which shows how much sense he has...
That was the biggest non-article ever. _________________

| Quote: | "This is the biggest game we've done since GTA IV, and is already receiving Game of the Year 2010 nominations from specialists all around the world," it read.
"Can you please ensure Toby's article reflects this — he needs to respect the huge achievement he's writing about here."

Would you kindly?

No they were effectively saying, don't give us a bad review. Whether this means any adverse effects if he DID write a bad review, we don't know but it's pretty clear from the quote put in there from Rockstar that they did not want a bad review. They basically told him to say that it's a game of the year contender.
Can't really expect any more from Rockstar though.
That siad, the way the guy went about it was pretty retarded and he did create a mountain from a molehill, but that still shouldn't excuse the comment from the developer.

From the way I understood the article, if any threats are made, they are rarely followed through with anyway, so it's all a bit of a moot point. How is a letter saying 'give us a good review' cash for comment if no cash has changed hands?

I'd remove that pic, it's a pretty big spoiler about the game. And no, I don't think a letter without any sort of threat of money changing or not changing hands is comparable to brainwashing... _________________

Wait what? A game developer wants their games to get good reviews?

It has though, in the way of advertising $.
From what I've seen from flicking through the magazine every now and then they have run full page glossy internal cover ads, which I'm guessing aren't cheap.
I'm not buying into the argument/hearsay one way or another, but if there is any truth to it then I'd say that's a fairly big axe that Rockstar are holding above Zoo Weekly's head.
It's a good thing I don't usuall pay much attention to reviews. I like reading them, but if it's a game I liked the look of before reading a review, it's a game I'll at least try out for myself. EB's 7 day weekly hires are great for such games.
