After consideration, we've decided to change the way VIP status is rewarded. As opposed to voting, or decisions by moderators or staff, there are now two concrete criteria that will give you VIP status;
1) Being a PALGN ex-staff members
2) Having over 5000 posts on the forum
We hope that this new system will be fairer all round. Congratulations to the new VIPs!

Unlikely, Garth...because if anyone tries try to spam their way to 5000 posts, it'll eventually be spotted, thus getting penalized for doing so...or worse, maybe even banned?

e.g.

5000 posts in 10 days = Post wh*re or possible spammer?

That wasn't.
But I agree, 5000 posts in 10 years doesn't necessarily mean a Valuable forum contributor, hell, most of the people that have been here for 10 years haven't posted that much.

You'd have to post a lot to get 5k. I post a bit (imo) but still 1.3k? We'll all get there eventually.
Post count also don't mean much imo. You can also post 1 line responses vs a lengthier post.
