I thought I had something going on with Pixie.
I thought she was my go-to girl for Gaga.
And then she negged me.
She negged me because I dont like tight pants.
I feel...lost. Adrift in an ocean of confusion, and pain. Maybe suffering too. Woe. _________________

Perfect example. MS point cards. A tiny little card sealing inside a giant plastic prison 3 times bigger than it needs to be. It's also wasteful.

Plan to see Dillinger for my first 18+ experience though (they're here a week after I turn 18). Hopefully the technicality of their music drives away those kinds of people, although at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if there are some.
Any tips for dealing with these sort of people other than just avoiding the pits? I like to get in there and move around heaps, but it's not worth it when there's people doing that stuff. |
You'll get more of it at hardcore shows than metal shows, but the hardcore scene isn't what it used to be in QLD so even then, it's not as bad as it used to be. I haven't seen a good hardcore breakdown with dancing in ages. I almost miss it, in a way.
At hardcore shows the pit is generally broken up in to three clean segments. If there's kids HC dancing (aka pit karate), generally there'll be a bit of a clearing at the front where they can get their flail on. After that area, there'll be the section of people who want to watch the band up close but not get amongst the flailing action. Then behind that section there'll be the people who just want to hang out at the back. I tend to stand at the front of the second section; this has its problems - the main one being that you'll probably still get flailed at by accident - but overall it's a comfortable spot to watch the band.

That's where I like it. Its close enough to be in the thick of it and get a good sound, but no so close that you're thrown back and forth in the moshpit. If the innerards of the mosh is your thang then its fine, but I've done that enough to know I like to have a little bit more breathing room to enjoy the show.
Eagles of Death Metal was fantastic thanks to being in that position. Enough room to get my groove on, but nothing clobbering me in the face. Opeth up against the rails, dead center, was a different story. _________________

okay, bragging time - when Opeth played in perth in 2006 i got to meet there security guy (the big guy with the long hair on the roundhouse DVD) and i shook Mikael Akerfeldt's hand and hi-5'd Martin Axenrot like all crazed fans try and do
this was all because the drumkit was so big that it had blocked off the backstage entrance to the stage itself and i had noticed that they went this way to get on the stage at the beginning of the set so when Mikael announced that they were doing the last song i snuck off to the side and couldn't believe no one else was there! the security guy didn't care he was just asking about good places to check out in perth and that they had done a signing in the city that i had totally missed that day.
oh yeah, what ticks me off? ridiculous ebay BIN prices from sellers that think everything made by nintendo is rare!!

A guy on eBay bought a game I was selling, through a buy it now. Then he sent me a message saying he will pay on Wednesday. Christ, if you can't pay for the thing don't bloody buy it until you can.
EDIT: Now he's blaming me for it... _________________

Choose the option where if buy it now is used, it must be paid with paypal instantly..
Stops the delays.
I'll use a but it now and pay in a few days if they don't have the pay it now option - if its at the right price, and payday is fast approaching. _________________

man, RE5 gold wiped my saves and well lost every weapon upgrade etc etc and I don't know if I can be bothered to play it all over again. Played some versus just then and it was pretty fun.

That was the attitude I had to year 12 actually, and I only barely passed most stuff. The reason being the OP I was after (18) I was pretty much guaranteed if I did pass, and I ended up getting one higher, so with barely any effort exceeded my goal. Now I'm in uni and I'm basically looking at is as "how many more marks do I need in this subject before I don't have to work" but I'm still not very motivated. Although I wouldn't be surprised if I fail a subject here and there, but I don't care enough apart from the fact that I'll have to pay for it later :/
Motivation is something I've always struggled with though, I think it's probably that my life is too easy and good at the moment for me to want to try improve it by working hard. It's why I'm considering having some sort of gap working or travelling and coming back to uni later. _________________
