Also, thanks to Macka pointing the trade-in deal out for me, he will be getting
me a SoulSilver while he's out! I have to trade in my Pearl but it's totally worth it since I have Platinum.

I love Growlithe but I had to get Soul Silver because I want Lugia earlier and it has Skarmory. Also because I owned Gold back when it was first released so I thought I would go with Soul Silver to change things.
Defeated the first gym so I'm on my way to becoming a master trainer. I so can't wait to find a shiny in this game

Picked up SS at Harvey Norman - when a friend went back at 5 they were sitting on the shelf in extra large transparent cases than normal but were for sale.
Decided SS since I know at least one friend is getting HG - didn't want to be stuck not being able to get the Pokemon exclusive to this version.
EDIT: I mean SS

I want to get a Raikou for competitive battling, but I'd imagine resetting for it'll be difficult seeing as the natures are set the moment they're released (right?)
I'm so stoked. Hopefully getting SoulSilver tomorrow, and going to play the crap out of it.

Yeah, I believe they are. I never worry about natures with my Legendaries, I still haven't worked out the whole "Running Pokemon" thing properly yet anyway

Runners can be very annoying.
The easiest way to deal with them, though, is to get some repels, a Pokemon that's higher in level than the surrounding Pokemon in the area, but lower than Raikou or Entei, and either:
*Save your game and run around in the grass to see if you encounter one
or
*Find an area that has grass where you can enter and exit something like a building, and every time you go outside, wander around in the grass for a while. If nothing shows up after your repels are used up, just reset your game.
I know some people will know about these tips, but I thought I'd put it up here for those who haven't heard about it.
Funnily enough, Raikou and Entei just disappeared from the Burnt Tower and Morty's ghost Pokemon are now deceased in my game. Loving this so much.
Now I'm going to level up my team in a route and wait for Jessara to catch up ... so hurry up!

I'm slowly catching up  Meant to only play for a little while last night before I went to sleep but I ended up playing until 5 am! Thanks to ZeroX03, I now have my EV trained Ralts (now a Kirlia), Totodile, Chikorita and my SS starter Cyndaquil on my team. I can't believe how fast these pokemon are levelling. The Kirlia and Quilava are already over level 20 and I'm only up to Goldenrod City.
I think I'm addicted to that Voltorb Flip game though I don't fully understand it. I know that it's kind of like a Pokemon version of Sudoku but there has to be a trick to it as I'm randomly guessing most of the time and have only won 86 coins from fluking it.
Back to it I guess, I have to catch Kyle before his Pokemon die of exhaustion from grinding

I got my Soul Silver today from JB by trading in two games! There was a bit of a complication where I bought two of those $5 games from the JB clearance, and then when I got home I saw there was that DS exclusion list >.> but it turned out alright 'cause I traded in two games of my own that I didn't like so I didn't have to spend anything extra.
Although, I won't be able to play it til tomorrow afternoon..have this music assessment due 
The box is so nice

I am loving this little pokewalker! I've already got my trade-bait sorted to get my diamond pokes accross and i havent hasd to use a single pokeball. Only played through to the first city so far but already i'm at about +10 nostalgia value. Looking forward to giving a propper rip through over the w/e.

I got HeartGold today and am absolutely loving it! The simple little refinements such as the infinite run button and having your Pokemon follow you are just awesome. I also picked up SoulSilver for Waka, but he's way too busy starting the game now to post
Anyway, I'm in Union Cave at the moment with my Totodile and Mareep. I'll post back later when I have gotten further into the game - I need to get up to the Bug-Catching Contest tonight so I can get my Scyther!

I went in to JB today. They didn't have it. So I went in to Kmart. They didn't have it, either. So I tried target (they still had the "Coming Soon" boxes out, wierd). They didn't have it, either. Dick Smith: same story. EB had it! But... they want $70. I could've traded in two games and paid (probably) $50... or just be a bit patient and try JB again in a few days. Kind of annoyed, but patience will prevail!

Outer suburbs of Melbourne. Target in particular would normally have dozens of copies. Maybe they just hadn't unpacked them yet?

Picked up HeartGold this morning. LOVING it so far. After careful consideration, I called my rival 'Breen', after everybody's favourite alien collaborator. My CYNDAQUIL got named 'Ganon' and my caught ZUBAT is called 'Ridley'.
I shall call my FORRETRESS 'GLaDOS',
-My electric type (still ain't decided on one yet!) 'Volgin',
-My ALAKAZAM 'Yuri',
-And my STARMIE 'Bison' ( LOL BECAUSE BISON'S NAME IN JAPAN IS VEGA AND VEGA IS A STAR AND STARMIE IS...well, y'know.).
Battery is flat, so I gotta stop playing for about 3 hours.

Haha! Funnily, for some reason, it's good to you sad about it. It shows you care, and hey ... you're excited about the game. That's a good thing!
I'll wait for you, too. It gives me an excuse to hunt for shinies and start working on my Pokedex!
I'm thinking I might get a Mantine for my third team member. I had one back in the day, so it would be nice to have one back again.

I've been debating over the last few days if i should get the game or not. Went into the local Kmart to see if they had it in stock, wasn't on the shelf, but then i noticed the Entertainment department had boxes on the counter.
Saw the price was $48 dollars and somehow though 'Hell, i could get both of them for that price'. So i did. Probably lend Soul Silver to my Cousin over the holidays.

Why don't we all just catch up to where Kyle is and have a PALGN shiny hunting competition? See who finds a random first on that route...maybe some pokemon in-game items or something could be a prize.

Is the rival's default name in HG "Soul"? Soul's a little better than Heart, I must admit, but I was thinking the name for him would be something just a little bit more menacing.
Good idea, Jessara, but it makes me wonder if there's anyone else out there on Palgn who is as interested in shinies as we are. I think it would be a cool idea, though.
Remember, guys (and girls) it's the Bug Catching comp today ...

The rival's true name is Silver, while the main character is called Gold. As for a Shiny Hunting Comp, I honestly don't have the patience to hunt for them, but hopefully other people are interested.
EDIT: I'm up to Goldenrod and I've just found out that I have to go to Ecruteak City first before Bill will give me my Eevee
