R.I.P. JB deal.
Helllooo Game
edit: Just to be clear. I use the deal to trade old games I have actually played. Not use 'tradebait'. Thus why I'm more disappointed. _________________

LOL JB
one thing that I noted in the past was they'd sell 2nd hand titles so cheap, and they're not on the exclusion list so you could simply buy games in Jb and trade them in and get a new one for about $60. its gonna be a lot harder now. There are still 2-3 titles not on there which are all bargain basement prices. I'll see it I can still exploit tomorrow.
I bought eat lead from JB for $15 new (twice) and traded in right away. About time they plugged that hole. That said, the new exclusion list is so retarded they might as well as close their 2nd hand games business. _________________

I kind of think that's a good thing with JB. I really didn't like ppl abusing the system and creating negative energy with the game chains. _________________ Shin J Leon.

That JB list is hilarious - Crackdown 2 for the 360 is on there, it's not even out. (Unless I missed the release somehow)

My goodness, that list is huge now. It wasn't so long that the PS3 portion took up less than one column on the first page. Times have changed.
RIP JB deals. _________________

I've never traded in games at JB, GAME have always given the best price for the game's that i've brought in to trade. Trading games in for me is more about sacrificing my least played / liked games in my collection, in order to make room for new game purchases.
I know there's the whole argument over losing $ value compared to the price you pay for games (and then seeing them get marked up double or even more what you're given as credit). I try to capitalise on the value of the title while i can, one example was when i asked about the value of certain sports games (08 versions of Madden + Tiger Woods), they were really low and poor. However in the lead up to the release of the '09 versions. The value of the '08 one's doubled, so i didn't hesitate with parting with them (when i hadn't played either for close to 6 months... it was an easy decision to get rid of them).
There was also another time, which was one of my first trade in attempts. I got rid of a few games, the rrp value of what i received in return was far greater... and indeed a hell of a lot more than what i had originally paid for the traded in game's.
I will say that i did intend on doing it at one stage after the 2 for $50 EB Games sale - early last year. I purchased a few that weren't on JB's list at the time (i had shown interest in OWNING them myself as they looked like fun games - and being $25 each was much better than paying $50 - $100 that they were previously). Although i intended on trading them in when i was done after a month or two, i never bothered trading them.

Well for those who didn't know JB Hifi updated their exclusion list again yesterday (19/03/10).
It seems they'll update whenever they want to with no real time frame to conform to - so those with "trade bait" in the wait, could get blindsided overnight.
It spans over 6 pages now and Crackdown 2 is still there, guess they really want to head that one off at the pass. _________________

Maybe they should just make a list, like GAME, of titles that CAN be used
Anyway, is anyone aware of the current trade in price of Mario Kart Wii? Because I overheard at EBGames the other day it's still $60.

JB.. they've done it again.
New list have been updated again. (22/03/10 - V30)
Every few days a new exclusion list, soon they'll cover every game that's ever released.
I see they took down Crackdown 2 though. _________________

With Monday's update the most obvious feature is the debut of a whole page of DS exclusions...lol.

minor minor spoilers...
its the illusion of choice... the whole game feels on rails at the moment... the scene with madison... why can't i take another shower? or i know something bad is going to happen, why can't i leave the apartment. u either like the gameplay or u dont i suppose. why am i tying someone's tie? just to show it somewhat feels like to tie a tie using an analog stick... is david cage for real? why do i have to push up on the stick to make the guy get out of the chair. I enjoyed the chase around the apartment as something you watch as a cut scene, but the QTE is similar to shenmue's from 10 years ago. i will finish it and hope that my opinion changes.
i know heaps of people like it - so just different tastes i suppose... i should stop before LeonJ calls me a little whining bitch with mega period problems. _________________

I haven't played the game, except the demo, but yeah, whatever.
From what it looks like, the game is trying to be realistic, living the life of the people. Have you ever had a shower, than instantly went and had another one? Does the character know something bad is going to happen? If not, then why wouldn't he leave the house like he would most days to live his normal life. And I assume they make everything controlled by you so you feel like the character more, not have it all just being cinematics or skipping parts. But hey, I could be completely wrong seeing as I haven't played it.

There are plenty of inconsequential choices like the options you get in mass effect or any other adventure game. But there are times it forces you to do things the way david cage wants you to do them... for instance i can't go down the elevator until i pick up the keys at the desk for the car... why can't i go down and then realise i have to get the keys? i am pretty sure this would have added to figuring the game out yourself rather than having the entire thing on rails.
the game is pretty much one long cinematic, im not really 'feeling' the parts where i have to pull out a drawer or rock the baby to sleep... to be honest i was hoping it would be like your typical adventure game, find some clues, solve some puzzles, but right now im following some arrows on the screen. i didnt like the gesture motions on the wii and this is pretty much more of the same thing. _________________
