Laughed because they have a nunchuck too.
Looks interesting though, 1:1 is certainly enticing, plus with solid tech under the hood the potential is higher than that of the Wii.
Also, under $100 USD isn't too bad for a bundle. _________________

I am interested to try it out, many of the titles I already are to be patched to support the Move controller.
The bundle price is decent for a game, camera and move controller _________________

I can't help but think Sony's a few years too late to the party with this one. Sure it was a cool concept 3-4 years back, but I think most of us have moved on since.
Also, under USD$100... well thats alright I guess, but we all know how they adapt their prices into AUD. Sure you can import, but local pricing is still a bit offensive imho.

They should have called it the Mov3, to keep it consistent with PS3 and ApocalyPS3

It looks... interesting. I'll wait to see it in person before I pass further comment.
The fact of the matter is, innovative or not, Sony (and MS) would be best suited to at least try to catch up to Nintendo's casual gamer market. Getting more of their consoles into homes will undoubtedly open up to other games and services. If lets say this does take off, then a console would really need to ask what does the Wii deliver over its rivals.

The wii has Nintendo's classic first party titles, no game franchise comes close to Mario selling power.
As for Sony and the PS3, Sony needed this move to get back the "family" crowd. The PS2 game catalog was for everyone with family and the hardcore. The PS3 has been adopted by the more hardcore end while the PS3 lost out to the wii with the family titles. This move will bring them back to carrying both ends again, it may or may not pay off for them.
I for one and very glad that this console generation's install base is well split between the 3 rivals, let just hope it stays that way, we the consumer/gamers will be the winners _________________

Seems like just another silly toy that will fade eventually.
Want motion control?

May want to wait for the Playstation Move Plus or the Natal Plus in 3 years. =)
Seriously though, motion control isn't going to fade. The technology will keep improving until it approaches the speed and accuracy of handheld controls. May take some years however.

If they use it for 'real' games and not just party games or gimmicky crap it could be great.

Sony's biggest hurdle will be their trainwreck press and advertising department. They're starting at the bottom of the hill and are going to have to fight to make this remotely (lawl) popular.
I like the tech, but I'm not convinced its going to get the support it needs. Being a peripheral hurts a lot.
They're also going to be fighting Natal and Microsoft's PR machine, which they've got down. Plus Nintendo, who already own the market.
Eh. We'll see. Oh, and silly people thinking waggle is a fad. Tee hee. _________________

I like motion controls when it is done right, it can be really fun, but when it becomes a bloody waggle fest it gets old really fast.
Have to wait and see what happens though.

You're right about the advertising. Or lack of really.
Games like LBP and Eye Pet should be all over our tv's and would sell MUCH better if they were.
Likewise for older audiences with games like God of War and Heavy Rain.
And being a Wii owner who rarely uses it, I was somewhat impressed and excited by the demo videos I just watched of the games on GT. Weird... lol! _________________ My YouTube game videos!

This is a better concept than the wii for one reason, and that's that people who want to 'waggle' can, while I don't have to be forced into boredom like I was with the Wii.
This is also better cause PS3 has a significantly higher amount of FPS games than the Wii, in which a gun game was one of my two apex' of excitement regarding the Wii controller when it was first announced.
I hope Sony convince many of its developers to add support for their older games, especially Resistance 2 and Resident Evil 5, and Harry Potter (Though that's a LONNNNNG shot).
Still though, the choice between the motion controls and just normal controller controls is the best (possible) part about this to me, hopefully it doesn't become a technology that no-one cares about and only has like 15 games supporting it because I think Sony can make it a really decent product.
However, agreed with Rhys, it is one technology that is best left to Arcade centres. Wouldn't phase me if I never saw it again.

I'm struggling to see somebody playing Socom with a controller that has a pink glowing orb on it. _________________

Motion control is BULL SHIT.
I think I've repeated this ad nauseum, though.
But really, it is. There's scarcely a game where I've thought, "this is truly, honestly better because it has motion controls."

Probably the major reason why this would fail, imo, is because companys simply aren't going to bother developing games for the PS3 with motion controls. Wii port or not Wii port, I just struggle to see game companies making money out of it; because not many people are going to buy the motion controller.
Of course, I don't know how much it costs to develop for a new console (I heard PS3 was hard to develop for), but I presume that it would be an amount that some companies might not be bothered to do.
Now to wait for someone to pwn this post... _________________
