You are awesome.
- Portal was a 'trial'. Size and assets specifically kept minimal. Had no idea it would be this popular.
- Portal was a 'test bed', Portal 2 is a 'game'.
- GlaDOS returns as the antagonist.
- Chell returns, and we play as her.
- Portal 2 takes place a long time after the original. Hundreds of years, in fact. The complex has overgrown.
- Those orbs seen at the end of Portal are personality orbs. They've cornered off sections of the labs as their own, and are concerned about the decaying state of the complex.
- The opening sounds fucking awesome. Im a bit shitty I spoiled it for myself.
- Portal gun remains unchanged.
- Physics will now be part of portal puzzle solving. EG: A vent that sucks air in can be combined with a portal to 'suck' from a different location.
- "Paint" mechanic, various liquid substances that cause some reaction. For example, in the demo shown a orange substance on the floor caused Chell to be propelled upwards. Using portals you can apply these 'paints' to other areas of the level for puzzle solving.
- Reflection cubes will allow Chell to reflect lazers for various puzzles.
- The co-op campaign will have you playing as two bipedal robots. The like to hold hands.
- Splitscreen for people playing on the console, and 'picture in picture' available for those playing remote co-op (eg: PC). This allows you to easily communicate with the other player and combine efforts for puzzle solving. _________________

TAG! It's Tag: The Power of Paint!
Man, I didn't even like that game much. But I guess it inspired Valve, so kudos to those guys.

Two things I want from this game; a deeper backstory to Chell, and a longer game in general. Add those, Valve, then I'll start listening. _________________

You're not going to get much deeper backstory to Chell. At the most it will be as deep as Gordon, which basically consists of "GOT A DEGREE, MOVED TO BLACK MESA, FFFFFFUUUUUUUU"
And it will be a longer game. Its a full priced retail game. Not a 'test' as they called the other game. If its any consolation, they do seem to indicate this one will have a stronger narrative.

I loved Portal, actually it's one of my top 5 games and they consider it a test so this is unbelievable. Why do you need to know so much about Chell? She's a blank slate for a reason.

Cool fact: Tag Team, creators of Tag, were all hired by Valve.

Because the PS3 port of the Orange Box was terrible, and Valve really hate developing for the PS3. _________________

I dont believe Valve have any in-house PS3 development team, so it always needs to be done by someone else. Orange Box PS3 was handled almost exclusively by an EA.
Assuming EA dont want to do it agian it probably wont see the light of day on PS3. _________________

I dont think it's whether EA want to but more if Valve want them to and considering what they thought of the ps3 version of Orange Box, it's doubtful

pft. It was totally playable, enjoyable even. Much more so than my PC at the time. So to you I say "pft." PFT I SAY!
EDZ: Yeah I really want Portal 2. I think I'll get it on Mac. _________________

Especially Portal. I know HL2 + EP1,2 had one or two problems which were in fact very minor, but Portal still played like a dream.
Let's not get into TF2, which IS a PC game through and through no matter how many FPS games are meant to be played on a computer.
Either way, I am very excited to hear more about Portal 2. _________________
