What makes you say that? For a lot of us, the damage has already been done. What difference is tomorrow going to make? _________________

What is the damage exactly? Right now it is a DRM issue because the dates aren't matching up. Tomorrow the internal clock that is incorrect will go to March 1st instead of a non existant 29th Feb 2010 (this is most likely causing the problems).
I have a feeling that the trophies have disappeared since they haven't been earned yet if you get what I'm saying? Even if they haven't, it will sync up with the server when it can and load all the trophies you had up until the last time they synced.
I may be forgetting something but I can't remember what.

Maybe this is what Ken Kutaragi was talking about when he mentioned the Fourth Dimension? That crazy bastard knew all along! No wonder Sony had to let him go. _________________

My first reaction was "damn that's an ugly fat freak." Then I started watching it and I was like "OMG this guy is annoying." But then I found the guy to actually be funny.
Oh and I put in Wolverine and it works but the trophies have still disappeared. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Really hope this does fix itself offline, can't get my PS3 online for like 3 weeks. And I apparently can't play Yakuza 3 until then. _________________

As you may be aware, some customers have been unable to connect to the PlayStation Network today. This problem affects the models other than the new slim PS3.
We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.
Errors include:
* The date of the PS3 system may be re-set to Jan 1, 2000.
* When the user tries to sign-in to the PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen; "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)".
* When the user tries to launch a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear; "Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game."
* When the user tries to set the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen; "The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)"
* Users are not able to playback certain rental video downloaded from the PlayStation Store before the expiration date.
We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.
As mentioned above, Please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
For the latest status on this situation please check either the PlayStation blog (blog.us.playstation.com) or PlayStation.com. _________________

Debug units unworkable due to endlessly looping error message
Various developers and studios are claiming that their debug PS3 units are failing from suspected internal-clock-related hardware errors.
A multitude of debug consoles – crucial to the development of current PS3 projects – have been thrown into a rebooting cycle, due to an endlessly-looping error message.
The issue comes as a separate issue is affecting retail PS3 consoles, though both problems are thought to be related.
It is said that when certain PS3 retail consoles attempt to connect to the internet, the platform shows error messages and are unable to connect to the PlayStation Network.
Sony has already claimed it has narrowed down possible causes for the retail problem and is working on a solution.

Hopefully this doesnt lead to delays in FFXIII and GOWIII _________________

If FFXIII wasnt finished by now there would've been a delay already. Maybe a delay in getting to play it but this wont affect distribution

God of War III went gold a couple of weeks ago, therefore it won't be affected. _________________

genxevo, for the 24 hours from 11am March 1 to 11am today the affected PS3s think it is Feb 29 GMT and their clock defaults to Jan 1 2000. The second you turn off your console, its clock will go back again.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=211
When that region hits midnight, in about 50 mins, it will be GMT 0000, which is when the PS3 will fix itself if it's going to. If it does, PS3s will start saying it is March 1 (i.e. yesterday).
I recommend having your PS3 turned off at that exact moment <.< _________________

This is a pretty major bug and stuff up. I've never seen anything (I work in software) like this in my life.

According to reports on GameFAQs...... the problem is now fixed. The clocks reset and the PS3 is working normally again...
except it thinks its 2020. _________________

I'm all back online- however I lost most of my trophies. Corrupted themes and d/l'd games are all good though. _________________

Confirmed working. The date on mine came up as 29/4/2020, which is pretty funny. If your trophies are still missing you have to load the actual game to create the new trophy data, quit the game and then re-sync them from the PSN. For those who've never connected to the PSN (or haven't done it since earning your last trophy).. I think they're gone.

Looks like the only thing i've lost is my Heavy Rain Trophies. I've started the game up again, but it hasn't downloaded them again. Redoing one of the chapters to see if it still unlocks them or not.
edit: yeah, looks like i need to unlock them all again. Suppose if there was ever a game i wouldn't mind unlocking them again in, its heavy rain. _________________

Well mine is working, except mine says 1/3/2010. Weird, thank God I didn't play any trophy games, if I lose my MW2 Veteran trophies I would cry.... _________________

Very strange. I turned my PS3 on and its all good. Connected to PSN, my trophies are still there and the date was 2/3, which is the right date.
Maybe mine didn't get affected. _________________

Just signed in, and no trophies or DLC has been lost (like I originally thought).
I hope Sony releases a blog post explaining what happened and reassures us that it won't happen again. _________________

Did you re-sync it though? I didn't make it clear enough in my post.. I'll go back and edit it.
