Apparently the patch allows the game to be installed, coming in at 4.7GB. _________________

Yeah I know, my comment meant to mean how effective the decrease in loading times the patch causes. <----I'm half drunk, so terrible grammar, but i think u know what I mean

Install took 15 minutes and takes up 4544MB HDD space.
The difference is huge. There's now no pause whatsoever when obtaining new items, accessing the weapon/item menu, or pausing the game. Loadtimes are drastically reduced, a good 10 or so seconds shaved off when loading a chapter or after dying.
EDIT:

Not that I noticed. I never found a problem with the framerate to begin with though. It's not running at 60fps like the 360 version, but the game still runs smoothly (I'm still on Ch 6 though, so it could have issues later on) _________________

An install feature doesn't fix s**t graphics, which is what I complained about. Though I give you props for trying to rub it in
At least they've given this to PS3 owners so the load times don't decimate the enjoyment. _________________

360 version couldn't beat Mario Kart DS (yes, DS) in January American sales.

Pet peeve, Fly Me To The Moon is an American song written in 1954, not something those crazy Evangelion guys did. _________________

I knew this, as I was a big fan of NGE when I was younger (had them all on VHS, still do) I was privy to this information. What I meant by the reference should be expanded to; (memories of Evangelion), after watching that series many times the song is simply intrinsically linked to Evangelion in my brain. _________________

It was getting irritating seeing reviewers try and earn brownie points by bashing the "cheesy j-pop" soundtrack (Presumably associating Fly Me To The Moon with Evangelion), despite it being an English written song sung in perfect English. _________________

Finally finished this.
Have to say the music gets pretty grating.

It's hardly performed like it's out of the great American Song Book. It's got J-Pop all through it. And it is terrible.
Anyway, Tony Bennet does a fantastic version, just shades Sinatra as the best cover out there imo.

Far out, Day 2.
I have completed the first 4 chapters. Chapter 1 I thought I was doing OK, got a silver trophy/monument whatever it is. 2, 3, 4 I have gotten Stone monuments. Died like 3 - 5 times per chapter.
Is this normal for first playthrough or am I getting too old for this sort of game? Serioulsy some of the QTE's I don't even see them until I die and try again.
Anyway, I am having fun. Its enjoyable after the serious epic mass effect 2 and should be a good diversion until heavy rain/FFXIII. _________________

I was about to throw in the towel 20 minutes in, kept on running out of time at the tutorial where you need to execute 3 "tortures". Finally got past that nonsense (nonsense in the sense that it should be easy since it was early in the game... yet i struggled lol).
It's fun, just hope it doesn't get too much harder later on.

That tutorial is meant to be easy. Its possible u may not be doing it right. As long as u don't get hit, ur magic bar will fill up very quickly as u land strikes. This should be extremely easy at least for the first 2 tortures, as if I remember correctly, Witch Time is automatically activated and stays active before u complete 2 tortures.

Yeah first two tortures were easy the third and final wasn't , i wasn't avoiding their attacks thus it dragged my meter down. On my successful run, i did the first two very quickly, and had plenty of time to nail the third.

Just curious people, do I need to pay any attention to the story? Or is intentionally a load of BS? I feel like skipping every cutscene. Thank god the combat makes up for it. Flip, flip, bang, bang, slash, HAIR DEMON! _________________

The story concept is interesting, but the way it is presented/told is absolutely horrid, so you're not missing out too much by skipping them. Mind you, some give you fair warning for (minor spoilers):
| Quote: | | enemy attacks that start up during the cutscene then quickly hit you as it goes into gameplay mode. Skipping the cutscenes the first time without knowing about these will most certainly net you some damage unless you plan to spam the dodge button after every skip. |
