I think they ran out of polygons when they decided to model the bodies, that girl's arms look straight out of a PS2 FF game.

I'm waiting for a proper comparison, but if the 360 is a good notch in quality, I'll be switching to the PS3 version for sure.

Quality would be very similar and both versions would be using lot of processing power accordingly.
I prefer my games on single disc

I also prefer my CG movies in 1080p with lossless audio. icon_razz.gif

The final retail Xbox 360 code is in the door and comes off comparatively the poorer...

Final retail code has just arrived in the building for the Xbox 'cut' of Final Fantasy XIII. Having just finished the game in just under sixty hours on PS3 puts us in prime position to note the differences in visual quality.

To our purely subjective eyes, we have noted:

“Sacrifices have clearly been made”

- While facial detail appears largely unchanged, the characters' clothes appear at first glance to be lacking finer details, with notably lower resolution textures.
- Incidental environmental objects and enemies appear less detailed, both in texture and geometry.
- The game's CG is extremely compressed and pales alongside the stunning HD goodness which blu-ray offers.

Well as much as I don't like her music she probably has as much credibility as a lot of the videogame "journalists" currently on the web...

Apparently the 360 version isn't HD. Check out these shots from Neogaf.

Pretty nasty jaggies.

I would embed them but they will stretch the page too much.

I like your style. Don't embed them PLEASE!

Anyway, they are comparible, but noticably worse on the 360.

Personally I think the framerate is more imporant. Plus we don't know what rez the PS3 is running the game. Could be 576p as well.

Leaning towards changing to the PS3 more-so now.

It says under that first image that the PS3 version is running at "1280 x 720 2 x MSAA"

I've gotta say that after looking at those pictures, and watching videos taken on Cameras at the recent Microsoft X10 event and the Leona Lewis videos, someone really screwed up those photos, because those textures look nothing like what is in the videos.

The textures might not end up being as good on the 360 version as opposed to the PS3 version but I've gotta call bull**** on those shots. As have a whole lot of people on Neogaf a little while after those pictures were put up.

Hrm stupid fanboys making shit hard to work out from the truth. I am about to switch to the PS3 version but I'm just unsure. I mean, what if soembody wants to fight me in SFIV while I'm playing FFXIII.

You see my problem. No, I'm not buying SFIV on PS3. I'm stickless in that realm.

Go get the PS3 version. Those incredibly bad looking screenshots? Square Enix just sent them out as their latest PR shots. That is ACTUALLY what the 360 version of FF13 looks like. Seems to be some reverse Bayonetta type crap going down.

My god am I happy I preordered the PS3 version and not the 360 version.

There's a link to a Kotaku gallery of the pics.

As I said before, I actually more interested in the framerate. That's the most thing for me.

Well that's the sort of thing that really won't be known until a bunch of reviews start popping up and the like.

So basically it's either wait until a few days before the game is released or take a leap of faith and hope like hell you picked the right platform.

Then get it on PS3, then pause it and switch over to the 360 whenever someone wants to play SFIV with you.

Or at least that's how I'd solve the problem.

Better then losing progress in FF13/missing out on SFIV action though? icon_razz.gif

If people can pick up on the differences in these versions it seems that either they are either A) playing on too large a screen where if it is so big they should basically go to the PC or B) so ultra picky that they are too enthused on looking for faults than enjoying the actual game at hand.

Bink video from what i have seen i have had no problems with, and due to the 360 joystick comfortability that shall be my chosen poison for this game.

Id rather comfort than microscopic differences that i as a gamer in the time where i am enjoying myself dont give too much care for such differences.

The problem is that they AREN'T microscopic differences. It's so bad that it actually looks like they used different textures for the environments and these are all being picked up on little 640 x pictures, let alone a 40" LCD where the differences will be even more apparent.
