Read through this thread again. The answer is blatantly there. _________________

Yeah it will work but how well and for how long is anyone's guess. Major Nelson himself has stated that Microsoft will be banning any 360's that use unofficial memory units from the next dashboard update, so please keep that in mind.

A memory unit and a hard drive are two different things, just to clarify for anyone who is confused. _________________

If that's true about the memory card then you should back it up before the update.
I'm not sure if my memory card is genuine. The seller claimed it was genuine, and it was packaged, and looks and works like genuine product to me, but I have to assume that it could be fake because of the cheap price.
But then again, do I assume that the 360 controllers Game.com.au are selling for $39 incl. post are fakes just because they are cheap? _________________

Game would be in serious trouble if it was selling fakes. Any Australian based company must clearly label 3rd party devices if it wants to operate within the law. _________________

Memory Units are different to hard drives.
Major Nelson / Stepto later explained on his podcast that 3rd party Hard drives will still work.
The reason 3rd party memory units were banned is because people were using hacked 3rd party memory units to alter their gamerscore and hack the xbl marketplace to get free stuff. Easiest way to fix the problem was ban all 3rd party MUs (and yes it will also make them more money obviously) _________________ XBL/PSN/Steam: BenC82

That makes sense. I was wondering why they would ban one form of third party memory and not the other. I don't think Datel has much of a chance in their lawsuit against Microsoft then.
