New Naruto for PS3 and Xbox 360
Ultimate Ninja Storm goes multiplatform for sequel.
by IGN Staff

US, December 18, 2009 - The first Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm was PlayStation 3-only. The second will be multiplatform for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

The second will also be based off the Shippuden anime series, and include cooperative and competitive play, with support for four players.

All this is revealed in the upcoming issue of Japan's V Jump magazine. That's right, we're so excited that we couldn't wait for the magazine to actually come out before passing along the info!

In Japan, the Ultimate Ninja Storm sequel will be known as Naruto Shippuden Narutimate Storm 2, reflecting the Japanese naming for the series. A release outside of Japan hasn't been announced yet, so we don't know what the international name will be.

Jump's exclusive reveal isn't really much of a reveal at all. It's just a tease, presumably coinciding with an announcement at the Jump Festa event in Chiba this weekend.

Jump Festa will?also see playable builds of Naruto Shippuden Kizuna Drive (Namco Bandai, PSP) and Naruto Shipuden Ninjutsu Zenkai! Chaku Rush (Takara Tomy, DS).

All these Naruto games are scheduled for Japanese release in 2010.

Curious if this going multiplatform could effect any future games from the ubisoft team. I never got to play them, but the gameplay footage i saw of the last one looked alot more interesting the Ultimate ninja storm

Its good now since all the offical websites are streaming the latest episodes of anime so there is NO excuse not to bring naruto games with shippuuden content imho. I haven't played a naruto game in quite a while i will look forward to this one!

I liked how the first game took you through the entire first half of the series when they were still kids. I dont think ill be interested in another one unless they release it after they finish the shippuuden series.

I have a feeling that they may have decided not to make another Naruto game for 360, so now Cyberconnect have decided to step in. Microsoft might have even asked them to do it (who doesn't like money?).
