Hey peoples!
I've booked some cheap flights to Sydney and back for February 10-16. Was originally planning to stay with a friend in North Sydney (Kirribilli) but just got a call from her saying the owner of the apartment is not cool with it.
Can anyone suggest a cheap place in the CBD (or even North Sydney)? Failing that, any chance I can slum it on someone's couch (or floor)?
Finally, can we get a PALGN meet happening while I'm there? So many of you I'd love to meet!

Note the city might be quite busy around those dates. Lunar New Year 2010 will be on Feb 14th.
But then the Sydney city is big so we just need to avoid Chinatown, lol.

Well, I'm currently working in strathfield for a real estate agency. I'm sure there are some empty studio (which actually is just a room.) for a very very short rent. Problem being, I'm quiting at the end of january. Then again, my parents have about 5 empty rooms in strathfield south, but transport will be a problem.

Not really much chance of cheap places in the actual City or North Sydney unless you want to try a back packers place, there's one near Central station. which is only a few train stops to North Sydney and in the actual city itself.

Get into some backpackers... errr. i mean back packer hostels! They're a dime a dozen in the city and a good base of operations if it's only for a few days 
do it!@

Thanks guys, have been looking at hostels today. Last time I was in Sydney I stayed in one which was in the middle of the CBD. Could always hit that one up again or try for a better one. I guess that way I get to meet sexy travellers too.

Brisbane is next on the list! I was originally looking to come up there but the tickets to Sydney and back were $39 each. Cheapest to Brisbane were like $149. Trust me, it's in the pipeline.
