watched the first 2 episodes of a show called Paradox.
it's kind of a British FlashForward - at least that's how i see the guides describing it. it's essentially about a physicist who's solar imaging radar receives images from what seems to be the future of what seems to be a disaster, he calls in the Police, and they try to interpret the images and solve the disaster before it happens.
it's quite good so far - only 2 episodes aired - it's not as in-you-face as Flashforward is, most of the first episode is them trying to determine whether it's true, or if the physicist is playing a prank (or confessing to a murder, and playing games.)
i quite liked the first episode, especially as they didn't solve the disaster in time - so everything they saw, came to fruition - something that i can't imagine occurring if this were a US series. (/spoiler)
it's not going to be for everyone - by and large it follows the standard UK Police Drama format, as opposed to any sci-fi format, but i quite liked it. _________________

Real, the episode ended and I was ready to watch it all over again. I since have and it was just as good. Brilliance. _________________

I watched the entire season 1 of True Blood last week. It was good. It was different from what I was expecting (a city setting, rather than a deep south small town) and not quite as good as the hype had made it out to be, but still enjoyable.
I've heard season 2 is better so I'll have to track that down. Is it available on DVD yet? I can't find it on the JB website. _________________

Watching a Doco / Reality TV series called 'Hoarders'.
It's pretty much a series on compulsive shoppers / hoarders, with two subjects looking to change their habits before something bad happens (like eviction for example).
I've watched 2 episodes so far, and it's amazing how bad the disorders can get... _________________ Playing: Fallout: New Vegas

Woo, finally got around to getting the final ep of Sons of ANarchy season 2, so I'll be watching that one tonight, I also now have all of Warehouse 13, so I should be able to get most of it done tonight too. Dunno what I'll move onto from there, maybe just watch some random Freakazoid eps because they're freaking hilarious.
FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU...

Watched the first episode of SoA Season 2 last night and after seeing how it ended, I'll also add that Kurt Sutter has one twisted head on him. In case you didn't know, Katey Sagal is Sutter's wife. For him to write in a scene like that... goddamn O_o
I've been away from the world of SAMCRO for a while so it's going to take a bit of time for me to get back into into things again. You'd think watching a guy get his jaw shot to shit then have something carved into his chest would have been a pretty f**king huge 'WELCOME BACK', but I guess I'm more demanding than I thought...
The season has started reasonably strong though so I don't think it'll take too long before I'm breathing diesel fumes again. _________________

Man, I took a little while to get into Season 2 as well (the whole thing was pretty much out when I started) but my god does it ramp things up from season 1. The **** most certainly goes down big time.
I also really like Tara's progression this season, she's really becoming a great "old lady".

I just got through another episode, and while things haven't yet ramped up, they've started heading in a direction that looks very promising.
A lot of the characters have got a tonne of baggage to play with already. Clay dealing with a rebel VP, Opie and his death wish, Tara coming to terms with her new man, Hale's turn to the dark side. And of course there's Gemma, and everything that could lead to, none of which is good (excellent).
On that note, I'm extremely impressed with Katey Sagal's performance so far this season. It was quite surprising to see how well she's portraying the vulnerable Matriarch. She's really selling it and it's making that storyline one I really want to see play out. I sense mushroom clouds of biblical proportion on the horizon here... (excellent)
Like I expected, it didn't take long for the show to start delivering. And how can I not mention that line from Jax; 'You think I brought you here to 'Adrianna' you?' Gold.
If you get the reference, internet fist bump to you. _________________

The last episode of Californication was really sad. and then I watched Dexter. Now I'm spiralling out of control in a daze of depression and anxiety.
RE: Scrubs 9. I thought it was pretty good. I didn't watch most of Season 8, so I was a bit confused at first but they kind of explain it all pretty well. Is JD staying in the show though? _________________

Since Dexter and Californication have finished their seasons and other shows have gone on a long hiatus (looks at FlashForward and V), there's not much I am watching atm, just:
Friday Night Lights Season 4 - liking the transition to East Dillon for Coach Taylor
Scrubs Season 9 - the show is struggling and really should have stayed finished, but I still can't help but watch
I have also been getting back into watching Wrestling regularly after a long hiatus, so have been watching:
WWE Monday Night Raw
WWE Friday Night Smackdown
TNA iMPACT Cross The Line
It's good seeing some of the wrestlers I grew up watching still around in the business but some have definitely gone down hill but obviously can't stay out of the lime light. Hulk Hogan comes to TNA as of the 4th of January in a 3 hr Monday night show, so I am waiting to see what role he will play there. WWE definitely needs some direct competition for their shows, so if TNA does start having Monday shows competing against Raw it will be interesting to see how things play out and whether a rivalry ala WWE Raw vs WCW Nitro of the mid 90s can come about and allow both companies to feed off each other and allow them to develop stronger storylines, ratings etc. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

Underbelly season 1
I finished it yesterday. If I'm going to be completely honest, it was a disappointment given all the praise I'd read and all the people recommending it to me. Even when I bought it the JB girl raved about how great it was.
It was enjoyable don't get me wrong, but there was something lacking. The same thing that plagues most Australian drama I guess. I don't know, perhaps it's unAustralian of me to suggest, but I just don't think Australia do good TV. Enjoyable, sufficient TV sure, but not excellent TV. There's a show here and there that comes along and blows you away, but it's nothing compared to the U.S. and UK.

Don't touch Underbelly Season 2. If I loved season 1 and hated season 2, then there's a big chance you'd hate Season 2. _________________

Yeah, I have no intentions of watching it at this stage.
Anyway, I was rummaging through my DVD collection and found 24 seasons 1-4 which I must have bought ages ago. I remember watching the first so I started the second season today. Still as enjoyable (except the Kim side story terribly boring) as I remember it.

Wow, I forgot all about that! That's kinda weird...
So I'm up to episode 7 of Sons of Anarchy right now. It's been a pretty great ride so far, but... episode 6. Something felt so wrong about that whole episode. It was like it was produced by the b-team or something. Everything about it felt a good step below the quality of everything that had come before it.
There seemed to be too many out of character moments, the pacing was weird throughout, and certain scenes seemed throwaway to the point of being entirely ludicrous.
One scene in particular stood out to be especially stupid; Juice and Unser trying to mess up the Feds chemical sample. What the fuck was that, seriously. I get that Juice is the dopey goof of the club but that entire scene was just... no.
Then there's Hale working so readily with Jax, which also brings up that scene with Darby being pulled over and actually being co-operative without much of a fight.
I guess it's not so much what happens in these scenes that bothered me, because it's the sort of stuff that I could see happen within the reality of this show. It's just that it was all handled really poorly. The poor timing of the editing and the below average writing made watching this episode entirely off-putting. Only the big event at the end packed any of the punch that I expect from this series, and even that felt pretty poorly executed to a degree.
This was the second of two episodes that I'd watched back to back, and the one before was fantastic so it's not like I saw it coming. This was an anomaly, one that I hope isn't repeated later in the season. Kurt Sutter has the writing credit for the next two episodes so I'm expecting a quick return to form. _________________

24 Has been my #1 favorite show over the last 5 years, absolutely love it (season 6 was a low point, but season 7 got things back on track). I started collecting the dvds back in 2004... since then i used to watch them a few times a year.... granted it gets a little harder as the show increases in season numbers (i'll only do it once or twice a year now).

It's a great show. I remember watching the odd episode of the first season when it aired here, but it wasn't until the second that I really got into it, then I stopped watching it after season 5. I remember downloading the first few episodes and finding them a bit underwelming and I just stopped after that. I must get around to buying the rest of the series on DVD.

Been watching the new cops style tv series "Steven Seagal: Lawman" which follows Steven as he goes about his duty as a Sheriff in Louisiana which he has been for the past 20 years. It's a mixture of COPS and Stevens Zen teachings. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004
