I really wish these things wouldn't only happen in one city.I would gladly travel at least 4 hours to Adelaide to attend one of these but that's about as far as I would travel for one. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Probably best if we don't have 12 year old gamers down there going, what do we want when do we want it
If i was in brisvegas i would go, i hope that instead of everyone plays, everyone gets off their arse... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

By all means, if anyone can organise some valuable speakers for interstate cities then contact me and we'll try and combine resources.
I'm doing this by myself at the moment. I'll need all the help I can get for this to actually succeed.
EDIT: Let's see if we can get the most vocal opponent of an R18+ rating up to Brisbane on that day. _________________

He would have to crawl out of his sound proof, not listening booth first.
I don't really have any time to organise anything in melbs, but if anyone does want to and needs a hand, i can help you out where possible......
Probably best if it wasn't me anyway _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

Goober have you been spreading this to other Aussie game sites too (eg Australian Gamer)? _________________

Need people to actually coordinate it in each state. I'd be willing to help out in SA, but I know crap all about politics, so we need someone to speak for us like BEES is in Bris. As he said, he's doing it on his own at the moment.

Yeah, I made a thread on the AG forums. I also sent an email to Kotaku, but they haven't run it yet. Front page on Kotaku would surely help get awareness amongst gamers. _________________

Because I've never heard of anyone changing legislation over a bunch of people who look like they've taken a halloween party onto the street.
Remember: we are trying to shift the image away from gamers being viewed as immature kiddies. Dressing up as zombies isn't helping that. We need to actually inform the public: engage them in constructive discourse. That zombie march was a joke and the participants were largely mocked by the media... _________________

Not to be negative - but as is well known, this needs to be a SA event. My understanding is that the Qld Gov Gen is already on board. _________________

Mr Atkinson would like people to think it's solely about his constituency, but the issue is bigger than SA, emech.

I don't understand why he keeps raising the issue of his constituency. He constantly reminds gamers that his electorate doesn't care and that by refusing to capitulate on this issue he isn't doing it to represent the people he elected. So as an elected member of the South Australian Parliament, who is he representing? _________________

On the bright side, he is interested in a future event I have in mind.
This rally looks like it's just the first step. _________________

Hopefully this can get some more widespread media attention to really bring it to the table. I think the rally itself will at least garner some more awareness, and at least teach some new folk that there is an issue that is misunderstood with gaming at an adult level.
Good luck with the rally, wish I could be there! _________________ Playing: Fallout: New Vegas
