How are you guys playing? Do you collect all the star coins, then move on to the next level, or just collect the ones you see and move on? I'm doing the former (same as NSMB) and I must say some of them damn coins are annoying to collect.
Admittedly, this game hasn't sucked me in as much as other Mario titles, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it.

mmm. when super guide is turned on, is mario's path recorded in or is that just some program working out the best way to clear the level. if it's the latter than the technology is already in the game (unless it's not, which it probably isn't haha)

i'm just collecting as i go. i anticipate playing this game through more than once so the coins will be fun to try and collect properly.

The more I play this, the less enthused I am about it. I'm at the point now where every time I turn it on and play, I turn it off in irritation soon after. There's no world or level that I've thought 'wow!'. To me, it's just an extention of NSMB so honestly there's nothing particularly new or exciting in this game. It doesn't feel as fresh as the progression of the 2D Mario titles in the NES/SNES era. A few new power ups, but it mostly seems to rely on nostalgia to get people through. Perhaps I shouldn't go about collecting every star coin. Some of them are highly annoying to get, and when you do finally grab one you've tried many a time to get, I end up dying stupidly. This compounds over and over leading to a frustrated feeling.

I feel the same way abit. Its a great game and I plan to finish it, however it doesn't give me the same charm and enjoyment as SMB 3. _________________

This game is WAY harder than it looks, especially co-op. Seasoned gamers finding it a challenge at my place. The ads on TV crack me up with like cool/family/fashion people all sitting around smiling going YAY kinda thing.
We were more like CONCENTRATION FACE and AAAAAAAAAAARGH _________________________ thats hard!!!!!
Would love to see a casual family kick back laughing and smiling playing through the levels on the ad. _________________

but then again... have you seen the ad for the wii cricket game, it has Glenn Mcgrath in it... and i think his kids.... man is it badly acted ahahahhahaha
but i feel that the powerups/mushrooms are to sparce in this game.
and it seems you can kill any of the bosses with fireballs either ahahahha _________________ Currently Playing:

Finished it 100% today.
I gota agree with He need to cut the ego though, it was not particually exciting, and there were many frustating moments in the game.
Eg: Riding Yoshi in a level, only to jump off him by mistake (and into a pit) because I slightly nudged the controller.
I keep playing it because I WANT it to be like the older Mario Titles, but this new game never really pulls me in like the old titles did.
I might give Multi player a quick whirl and see how that goes instead. _________________

man, i really wish they'd remove the wii-shake thing. like, i know the shake is all the wii has got to offer and they couldn't possibly sell a mario game that doesnt incorporate the wii controller, but it's so tacked on and pointless. controlling the character should feel natural. i don't know if its just good design or the fact it's been infused in our brains by now, but there is NO thought process involved behind pressing a button to control something. compaire that to having to randomly shake the controller to pick up an object and it's a clumsy, unnatural and all round crappy way to play the game. playing mario 3/world, not ONCE did i have any trouble picking up a turtle shell.
(sorry if this post is hard to read but its more of a rant other than any properly structured piece of writing).
other than that, i have NOTHING against this game. totally solid platforming

I actually quite liked the bits where you controlled the spotlight and the platforms via tilting the Wii remote. Other motion controls are a bit meh, though.
And the PALGN review should be up shortly. _________________

Using this and this. Though I suspect they are somebody else's screenshots.
Gee, didn't take long, did they? I love how hackable the Wii is...
But why the hell didn't they include something like this in the actual game?

Now this will give a chance for someone to propose in this game, not that I need to do a marriage proposal, lol. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

i think that there needs to be more co-op levels. I know you can play like all levels as co op in free mode/coin mode. But i feel that 5 exclusive levels just is a bit lazy. More would have been cool, especially more like the 1st one which is pretty much just crates.
Also i'm annoyed that you cant play the game with a gamecube controller, I blame this stupid shake to do certain things thing. I mean wiimotes are expensive for ppl like me _________________ Currently Playing:

Some points I want to make - at level 3-4 (or thereabouts)
+Co-op makes this game
- Co-op should have been available ever since the first SMB... why not the 2 player select back then wasn't really 2 players... it was a 1 player game.
+ Some amazing platforming action with some awesome near death experiences (ie jumps that save your bacon and plenty of yelling)
+ Much harder than NSMB DS, one of the reasons - co-op
- Not enough suits
- Not enough selectable characters, what about 6 or 8 different characters like Brawl
- The magic from SMB3 and SMW is here sporadically.... sometimes i feel it does amazing new things that make it the next 2D masterpiece. Other times its just a copy of a typical level. _________________

i also miss the massive mario from the ds one.
that would be so cool in co-op.
and i want more characters too. also would be good if p1 didnt have to be mario. _________________ Currently Playing:

i've had this for a few weeks now and don't know how so many people can feel like adds nothing! I love this game. It's awesome! Ok, the shake thing killing you if you need to move or something is a bit of a buzz killington, but besides that... this game is tops.
I actually like the level design. It's like looking into a cute but very evil mind. it looks simple on a first glance, but when you think about it and try to get the harder stuff... it's evil brilliance!!!
Also, this game is the best way to spend a day with a hang over!
the only other thing that annoys me is why the hell are the extra toads there, bring out some other characters! _________________ Worst. Signature. Ever.

It adds plenty, they're just being nongs. If anything, NSMB Wii has too much going on overall that not enough of the mechanics are reused in new ways. Every level offers something totall new, big and/or small. _________________
