Just found this on IGN here...
http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/104/1042466p1.html

"This edition is promised to be limited in quantities, and contains a tin case, a hard cover "Art of Mass Effect 2" book, one issue from the Mass Effect Redemption comic series and a behind-the-scenes DVD. There will also be unique in-game weapons and armor that can only be obtained by purchasing this edition.

"We're really excited to roll out this Collectors' Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors' Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. "The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience."

The collectors' edition will retail for $69.99 on Xbox 360 and $59.99 on PC, and will be released on January 26 in the US and January 29 in Europe. "

Box art is quite awesome, although if your not familiar with the series, it wouldn't make much sense lol

Is that box art real? That's an awesome and very unusual kind of image for a box art.

Hmmmm., Dragon Age Blood Armour Unlock... for a few people that will just double up on codes... Wonder how much it will be worth though.

Looks like a good deal from EB though, tempting to get it!!!

Damn exclusive to EB means we'll be paying RRP all the way for the LTD.

Its only $120, which seems worth it, for what you get.

Looks great but I dunno if I'll be able to swallow the $120 when I'll be able to get it on steam/overseas for $55.

I have to wonder whether a CE is really worth it when ultimately the thing that will bring you the most happiness is the game, which you can get for about $40 less.

But goddamnit, I want that tin case.

^^ if you look at EB's site carefully - the ltd ed is not exclusive to EB - the codes are.

I am expecting this to be listed at JB and Game by next week as well with their own exclusives. (they are not listed on JB and Game's systems - called both of them this afternoon)

Both the codes and the Ltd Ed are both exclusive to EB in Aus. Under the boxart image it says it is exclusive to EB and if you check EB's Twitter Feed it was announced there.

JB and GAME may offer a alternate CE like they did with Dragon Age where you got a cardboard box with a plastic dvd case inside and other preorder bonuses, but it won't be the CE that was announced today.

I think I'll be giving this one a big ol' miss. The box art is gorgeous, but I think I prefer the ridiculous '70s pulp sci fi on the regular edition's cover. I do like the sound of the art book, but I've had enough of crummy video game/comic book tie ins, and I can't imagine the DLC armour and weapons are particularly game changing. I just bought Dragon Age from the UK for less than $50 including shipping, because apparently PC games are absurdly cheap over there, so a $120 special edition of Mass Effect 2 isn't particularly enticing icon_wink.gif

Thanks. icon_smile.gif

Interesting to note there are over 20 pages of negative comments on the BioWare forums.

Apparently, this is the 'final' artwork for all regions.

Why do they insist on putting the stock Shepard character on the cover? It's such a stupid thing to do.

I'm on the borderline whether I should pick this up for PC or 360. I played the original on 360, but my brother played it on PC and it seemed much more polished.
